Anyone give their cats probiotics for IBS / IBD? Looking for something that cats particularly like the taste of. But of course! :sneaky:

Never had that here but the best probiotic I have come across is protexin, comes in a capsule and for a normal runny tummy you sprinkle half a capsule on food a day, has no taste and can be bought from Vet UK etc.
However would be inclined to take vet advice before using it for what you want

Aviproplus is great. you get a decent size tub and can sprinkle on food or mix with water and give it in a syringe.
I use it occasionally if anyone gets the runs, and it seems to do the trick.

Thanks for the replies.
It's ok, it is on vets advice. Just that he doesn't seem to like the stuff the vet gave him.

I used to use LactoB but looks like that has been discontinued, last time I bought http://www.amazon.co.uk/Monster-Pet-Supplies-Blooming-Probiotics/dp/B003TJWP9I - it's a very large tub so works out to be very good value.
Have also heard of fortiflora being spoken of very highly by others on here, or alternatively a probiotic plain natural yoghurt being used but this is obviously no good if there is a degree of lactose intolerance.
