Some vets will still spay when they are calling although it is a bit riskier due to increased blood flow to the area etc. How old is Mango now?
Why did the vet not book it for halfway in between her calls?

he never asked lotty
after a long time of asking and waiting cause of her tests or breathing he said on fri that we could do it mon when she was sedated for xray on chest
she wasnt calling then she just started last night
i have to go in the morn at 8am , i have had to get mi mum to come up to take anna to nursery and look after phoebe so thats why i was wondering
i have waited a long time to be able to get her spayed , i dont like to see her calling all the time when we are not going to breed her and it keeps us all up at night

That's a shame as it's best to get it done halfway between calls (provided the cat stops calling for long enough!)

Yes it must be annoying to put up with all the noise for no reason other than your vet refusing to spay her before now. Is Mango the long haired exotic?

sash the op is or can be a wee bit more detailed when they are in season as the "bits" are slightly swelled and yes there is increased blood flow but the amount of times ive seen a cat spayed whilst she's been in season and no one knew or failed to inform us and i cant think of a single time anything untoward happened.  Then worst ive seen is the surgical incision needs to be tiny bit bigger sometimes and the op to take a few mins longer.
Personally with all the faffin you've had already i'd be inclined to push ahead with the vet will.

would you just go then lynn and not bother ringing 1st cause if i ring at 7.45 the vet wont be there and the nurse not nowing what we have been through might just say no
i will tell him though when i take her , i wouldnt  put her at any risk

Cosmic: Personally I'd just get her done tomorrow then it's done. I don't see the point in making her have another anaestetic (seeing as she'll be being sedated for the xray) and going through another few calls to avoid the small increase in risk of spaying whilst in call.

Fingers crossed your vet will spay her tomorrow, my vet will but I do try and schedule spays for them not to be, but one was tail end of a season and was spayed with no negative effects - apart from being more hyper and playful after coming back, you wouldnt have known she had been spayed that day!!

My Vet wouldn't be happy to unless there was a reason, e.g that the little one was in and out of season all the time and never appeared to be a gap. They would rather wait until a few days after the season has finished. Especially if today was only a sedation and not a full anaesthetic, I expect then it may be a close call.

You cannot imagine how they could not tell, can you? I often get people phoning me to say that their cat is ill. I can hear the cat in the background and I say is that an unspayed female?  They usually say yes and after a few more questions, (as I know  with an embolism and other things wrong a cat can sound similar to when a cat is in season),  a voucher is in the post.

He spayed her , i took her in and he said lets just get it done it might meen she has a slightly bigger cut due to the swelling but thats all

she is back home and a little sleepy and unsteady on her feet but ok , he did a xray on chest but that was clea and he has washed her lungs out  :innocent: or summat like that and got loads of samples to send to labs to get to the bottom of her prob with weezing and snorting , hats the 4th test so fingers crossed , if theres no results im going for a second opinion

:heeee heeee:

I'm so pleased she's been done and is recovering well, and hopefully her test will come up with something and you can get to the bottom of her problem.

I am glad that they did her, and good luck with teh test results - one vet nearly did that lung test on Pebbles, but the other vet disagreed.
