So sad, the owners who've lost cats must be devastated  :( I hope those that made good their escape can be found quickly, if I was local I'd offer to help look for them.

I have a little escape plan for if there was ever a fire in my house, the smoke alarm automatically sends the boys scarpering under my bed so I would have to wrestle them out and put them in a pillowcase before lowering them out of the window using a dressing gown belt or similar, or if there was no time I'd throw them to the grass and hope for the best. Seriously hope I never have to put my plan into action though.

Well Coco sleeps either in my bed or my daughters so would stay with us and we would put her in her cat carrier which is kept upstairs in the spare bedroom (I hope).

It makes me sick just to think about this fire I hope they didn't suffer.

TBH I have never thought about this but guess if I open the back door all 3 would evacuate fast, especially Lupin............his dream come true!

Just read this. As a cattery owner this is my biggest nightmare. Cats react in different ways and whilst some will run thus hopefully some of the cats may have escaped, but some will hide.
My heart goes out not just to the cats (RIP) and owners, but also to the cattery owner together with any staff who must be feeling devastated.

I read that four of the cats who sadly died belonged to the cattery owner. So sad.
