Title: Rip little black cat
Post by: Claire123 on November 10, 2012, 10:00:02 AM
Saw a little black cat walking down our local road last night, he looked like he had just been hit as was still trying to move, as no cars were stopping we stopped cars and went and picked him up and carried him to side of road where he died a few seconds later with us stroking him! No collar but tried knocking on a few doors but no one knew him :-(. Left him on pavement in the hope his owners will go looking for him as he looked a young well looked after cat. Rip little lack cat!!

How very sad but thanks to you he knew love right at the end and could pass peacefully to the Bridge. I do hope his family find him

RIP little one, it must have been very upsetting for you to have to deal with but am glad he wasn't alone for his last moments

Might be worth calling the local rescue/vets to let them know, just in case an owner rings around.

We reported it at the local vets but went down there to check he had gone as was going to take the body to vets to be scanned and no sign of him so hopefully the owners found him!!

Oh bless you Claire.  :thanks:

I had a similar experience last year, ended up taking the poor body to our vets for a chip scan - no chip. I never knew whether the owners found out what had happened to this little cat but she looked so similar to one of mine it affected me deeply. I hope you are coping OK with this, and that you know how much your attention will have meant to the owner.

One of my worst fears, finding a dying, or dead, animal.

Well done on helping the cat out and hope it wasn't too traumatic.
