Poor Toby is off to the vets tomorrow. :(
Mum said he came in last night lame on one of his back legs. He's been really quiet today and has only gone out to do the necessaries. She's checked his leg and says it feels stable, no wounds and his claws and pads are fine. I sincerely hope that he's only sprained it. (Mum is a nurse - though a human one)
Problem is he tries to copy Pearl in climbing trees, but hasn't quite got the same ability. Suspect he might have come a cropper trying to get down from one.
Damned thing sitting here 75 miles away and worrying... :sad no:

Awwwwwwwwwwwww poor Toby, cuddles to him.
I am sure he has just landed too heavy or awkwardly and by time he goes to vet tomorrow he will be running away from nasty lady trying to catch him
-
Fingers crossed for him.
-
Poor Toby  Hope he's better today and the vet confirms it's nothing serious.
-
How is Toby?
-
Just heard from mum - Tobz is a lot better today thank goodness! :yesss:
Mum took him to the vet this morning, who gave him a good look over. Turns out the main pad on his hind foot was very bruised and tender, though there seemed to be no obvious damage. He's had a shot of antibiotics and a shot of anti-inflamatories and he's going back tomorrow for a follow-up.
Tobz has been walking around a little bit this afternoon, albeit rather stiffly, and managing to put weight on his poorly foot. The boy has got his appetite back which is good news, as all he ate yesterday was a Cat's Delight treat stick. He's now currently curled up on his sofa sleeping the meds off. Of course, will keep y'all posted as and when I get further updates from mum.
It's a major relief that it seems to be nothing more than a bad bruising, though obviously, we'll see how things go. As to how it happened, it's anybody's guess...
Thanks to everyone who's been sending him their wishes! :thanks:

Awww I'm soooo pleased that he seems a lot better  Tell your mum to give him a big cuddle from me, xxxxxxx
-
So pleased its nothing too serious but I bet its sore for the little man. Get well soon Toby
-
Thanks, he's still very stiff and sore, but that didn't stop him from eating a whole sausage at tea time.
The vet said that there was no obvious external damage, but that his leg was very bruised and that his kneecap felt loose. It all points to his leg having been caught in something and that he's twisted it badly in the process. Tobz is being sensible and staying on his sofa for the most part. He is walking on all four paws now, but he doesn't go far and has as yet declined to go outside.
He's back at the vets in the morning for another check, so will keep you posted. In any case, I am one relieved meowmy. :Luv:
-
Well he didnt hurt his mouth
I hope his leg is Ok and there is no serious damage.............prob he is doing right thing and resting and getting his slaves to chase around after him and feed him good food
-
Hope he is alot better today - good luck at the vets!! :luck:
-
Hope he's OK today. When kylie hurt her leg and was limping badly, I phoned the vet and the receptionist said if she was eating and cleaning herself, there was nothing broken so hope thats the case :Luv:
-
I hope Toby's feeling better this morning :)

Toby is fine - he went back to the vets this morning for a further check and the bruising has gone down significantly thank goodness. He's been given anti-inflamatory drops to take for a week, and goes back next Friday for another checkup.
He's back to his old self and moving a lot more easily now - he and Pearl have been assisting mum with the ironing this afternoon. :cheer:
Also, the vet was impressed with how he travels in his wicker shopping basket and said it was the way a cat shoud travel! :na na naa na:
-
Good news! glad he is on the mend!
-
Thats great ;D
-
Am glad it was nothing serious and he is a lot better.

Likewise, Des. The relief is palpable. :yesss:
When he came in not wanting to use his leg at all, we immediately thought the worst. He's still on meds till Friday, but he's back to his old self now thank goodness.

Aww, bless him.
