Title: TINA TUNA
Post by: moira on September 27, 2012, 20:45:10 PM
I am heartbroken to say that our sweet girl,Tina Tuna, died today. My neighbour found her dead in a bush  in their back garden. Not a mark on her but in a contorted position. The vet nurse said she thought she had fitted and that it was likely due to either being hit by a car or poison. She thought likely poison as there wasn't a mark on her and no evidence of injury. She was only young still and in perfect health. My son is gutted as she had become pretty much his cat and slept on a chair in his bedroom. I mostly saw her at mealtimes and in the morning when she would sit on the edge of the washbasin while I was trying to brush my teeth. She was always a feisty madam but never aggressive. Not a lap cat but would look at you with such sweetnes and purr when you stroked her. I'm thinking back now to when Gill brought her to me after she was abandoned on the Welsh hills. Can't believe she is gone. It's hard when they are old and you have to make the decision to send them to the Bridge but this is so unfair. She had so much left to live for.

Play hard at the Bridge, darling one.

Thank you both. It is never easy losing them. It seems so unreal. I have two 16 years olds and a few 10+ and you always think that they could go soon but I just never saw this coming. She was a very special cat, a Purrs cat. I know some people say to keep cats in to protect them but I know that would have been no life for her. She was her own cat and enjoyed her life as a cat should.

I remember Tina Tuna's story very well, Moira, and how you went many extra miles to bring her into your loving orbit - and she was not the first or last by a long stretch

I'm so sorry  she was wrenched  from you and your son  very much too soon - I believe she was found in the Welsh hills in damp and snow, so perhaps now her wild Welsh spirit is roaming there again, this time with warm sun on her back, and the flowers in bloom

I too remember Tina's story well.  I'm so sorry that she has been taken from you in this way.     You gave her shelter when she needed it and freedom when she asked for it but most of all you gave her love.

Awwww so sorry. I too followed her story and she was fortunate to be saved by Gill and then taken in by you.  She had a better life, however short it was, than she would ever have had had she not been rescued.

Oh Moira I am devasted she was just a gorgeous loving little girl who suffered so much before she came to you.

She was found by my art tutor at the bottom of the Brecon Beacons and it was autumn  and I dont know how I can break this to Sue cos she has recently lost her long time companion Fudge the chocolate labrador and I met her today for the first time since I lost Napoleon last year and Ducha a month ago.

We had a long chat after the others had left and shed some tears for our special friends and dont think she could cope with this right now as she has been ill since Fudge went to the Bridge.

RIP beautiful Tina Tuna, you did not deserve to go so soon, play hard on the Bridge, Ducha will show you the way

So Sorry Moira :-[ Gill told me about Tina so really gutted for you (gill too ....as know shes so upset too). I do remember Tinas story so its heartbreaking to know after such a horrific start in life, then finding happiness with you and your family...this had to happen. No.... poor girl didnt deserve this at all.
my moms cat ( a stray that found his way into her heart) was found in a similar way again in a bush,by a neighbour with no clear cause of why or how. I know how shocked and heartbroken my mom and brother were when poppy died so know  your pain must be raw right now  :(

RIP Tina ..you are missed by many xxx

I'm so very sorry Moira.

So terribly sad when it happens so suddenly without proper explanation to a young cat who should by rights have lived to a ripe old age given how well love and cared for she was.  I too remember her story.  She had such an awful start but enjoyed so much love and comfort with your family.

RIP Tina Tuna  :'( :'( :'(
