The stray cat, that now comes in the house, has sprayed somewhere this morning
I can smell it ALL over the house but cant find it LOL
Hubby and Son are up in Nottingham for the day so i have lit smelly candles all round the house hoping to cover the smell up
I gotta tell ya though it :censored: stinks
-
Uh OH ..is there no way of getting the little mite to the vets and having the snip ..?
As for the smell ..I was sprayed not so long ago and ended up having the throw my jeans away the smell just would not go away !
-
oh no wat a little buggar
the smell is awful isnt it     not that ive ever had it in my house as both my boys were done at 6mths
did u treat him for fleas n worms etc b4 letting him in ur house ?
-
   ewwwww! I'm sure your kitties will soon alert to the spray point. Look out for the sniffing and lip curling ;)
-
Ewwww
You need one of those black light things that help you identify urine! Hope you can find it as I don't envy you having to put up with the smell!
-
Yes i have frontlined and drontaled him !!
I am going to get him "done" next week hopfully, just got to chat to vet about him being kept in the night before and night after.
I just cant find the patch that he has sprayed -
I am not joking the WHOLE house smells of it
Oh well i know it will fade with time lol and the little darling is asleep on the sofa at the moment.
I gotta just say though, i am so proud of my lot.
I have the best 10 cats in the world - they are just so good.
They put up with any old waif and stray that i let in.

i must say my bailey and bridie never made any fuss each time i took on another one
i now have 7 and they get on fab
and it was only 3mths ago i took on max and they all were brilliant towards him
after about a week there was no hissing nothing ! it was like max had always been here :wow:
-
i could be wrong and youre talking of somthing else, but i think those lights identify... something else from that area..... its all to do with protein :evillaugh:

I have never had a problem when a new one arrives.
I dont go "by the book" keeping the new one locked away etc
I have always just let the new one out (kept a close eye of course) and let them get on with it
-
i think thats the best way sometimes isnt it instead of pussy footing around
i must say ive always done pretty much the same :evillaugh:
-
pussy footing around
Boom Boom !!

They do identify urine, although I believe different compounds show up as different colours.
This light (combined with a cleaner) is sold at a lot of the cat shows - I saw it at a show on saturday which is why it came to mind.

I bought a handheld UV light when I got the boys, I have no sense of smell whatsoever so unless I trod on a wet patch I wouldn't know if they'd had an 'accident' :shify:
So far, so good - no strange glows from the carpet! I got mine from ebay for around £6 delivered.

I searched under 'handheld uv', the seller I got it from doesn't have any items listed at the mo...
Hand held note/money checkers are the same thing though, mine is like a strip light bulb and it has a handy torch at the end too.

Sorry for the fact you have a spraying cat Michelle - I have had the odd one, but they have been kept in one room until they are neutered and the smell has disappeared (normally 10-14 days), it is easier to contain in one room with ventilation. Thanks for the link though, I wanted one of those when I had Tom, but couldn't find any on Ebay!!
