Received a letter from the RSPCA today asking me to attend the Annual General Meeting on 14th June to accept an award for the home visits I've been doing. :wow: :innocent:
I'm going to phone them tomorrow to say I will be attending. Maybe it'll be an oscar in the shape of a cat :evillaugh:
I would imagine it will be just a sheet of paper, but I do not care. I have loved doing this voluntary work for them for the past 4 or so years and the Halifax Branch do so much good work and I'm proud to be a little part of it. Dead chuffed. ;D ;D

Will you be doing a Gwyneth Paltrow style acceptance speech???? Well done you - I'm chuffed to bits for you. X

Cheers both.
I was actually thinking that myself cos I could talk for England   Not even sure if they let you give a speech. I'll find out more details tomorrow hopefully. :thanks:

This is marvellous, Mary. You should be very proud of your acheivement and to have it acknowledged formally by the RSPCA is very thoughtful of them.

How exciting! well done you! :congrats:

:thanks: everyone.
Found out a few more details today. I will receive a framed certificate and a pin.
The night starts off, as with any AGM with the boring bit about the financial year ;) Then there is a speaker which this year is a guy who will be bringing his parrot with him and talking about parrots.
Then the best bit :naughty:  Volunteers awards. I was told we do not have to say something but I think I would like to, so I'll see how it goes. They also take pics of us.
You'll be sorry you are all askig for pics - I'm not as sexy as Bonnie ;)
I'm taking my friend and her 19 year old daughter who are big cat lovers and they look after Bonnie for me when I go anywhere.
I'm sure it will be an enjoyable night :thanks:

Its great that they appreciate all the hard work you are putting in :wow:
We had a RSPCA home visit when we adopted two lovebirds and she was rushed off her feet as worked full time then did visits on the evening so it is such an important role and a selfless one at that.
