Title: Make your own cat treats?
Post by: maryas on May 12, 2012, 14:03:14 PM
May be a good thing if your cat is overweight or you're worried about additives etc.

Oooh..... mine don't need to watch their weight (although Izzy can get a bit porky in winter)  but that looks a really nice little book, love the idea of the fish shaped cutter!

Sometimes I wonder about the ingredients in some of their treats and I worry that they are a bit salty.

I had an idea of making raw smoothies for our four. A little liver and some salmon all smoothied up in a blender. Maybe heart and turkey too. I've not done it yet though as the blender broke

Well shame on you - get to the shop and buy a new blender now  ;)

The smoothies sound really good as a treat.

I love my cats and would do anything for them but think the liver smoothie would be a step too far foe me!

It would smell awful  I hate the smell of liver - Tosca goes mad for it  ;D

Thinking of buying this,my three sem to have "gone off" eating just lately.Perhaps it's the warm weather? does any one else have this problem?

My Cashie goes off his food a bit in the warmer weather, he always loses weight in May/June and even though it happens every year I still worry about him!

Cashie won't eat liver, I don't know who he thinks he is but he is very picky in his eating habits, if it isn't Felix AGAIL, Sensations or Marinade he isn't interested.
He's better with dry foods though, nothing like as fussy.

Reckon Izzy would go for the liver smoothie, I caught her eating the liver sausage sandwiches I had made for the foxes the other night.

Yer, warm weather does have most cats eating out of the ordinary, even treats  :wow:  I suppose it's like us really, we change our eating habits when it's warm too.
