Little old Edna has to have a lump removed on Tuesday :(
I found a little lump on her right hind thigh about 6-weeks ago, but I was happy it was a free-moving lump. A few weeks ago, it became a little crusty, but dried up (so hard to check things on her!!) a week ago I managed to check the lump, and it appears to have outgrown the blood supply internally and is looking a little sore and red, so I'm having it removed on Tuesday. The op is being done my my favorite cat vet, Helena, and will be easy to remove and with good margins surrounding the skin, so the op itself will be easy and fast with lightning Helena. Even as a vet nurse, I worry about the oldies much more, especially when they're mine! So please send Edna good thoughts for a stable op and good recovery. Please also send friendly thoughts for the vet/nurse who will have to hold and induce her >:( as Edna will, no doubt, give them hell and swat at them and attempt to bite :evillaugh:
She's an old, grumpy, feisty bag! But one I love to bits, all the same.
Good luck my old girly...

Just thought I'd update... Little old Edders has had her op and is fine :Luv: Yayyyyyyyy!!
She was a bit norty with the vet, and after her triple jab, she flirted and when Helena (vet) who moved to the kennel bars. A soon as she did this and was within range, Edna put her paw through and swiped >:(
It was sooo funny - I got her into the kennel this morning, and she was paddling and purring and shaking her tail (she only ever purrs!) as if to say "But, I'm being all cute and good mum, and I promise I'll behave if you take me home without the op"!! Within 10-minutes of waking up, I carried her back to the kennel and she was back to hissing and growling :briggin:
She is now on hunger strike until I collect her (in about an hour) the norty lump was off in minutes and the wound stitched up nicely (sub cuts as nobody is brave enough to try and take stitches out of Edna!!) Her anaesthetic was a dream, so I'm a happy mum :)
Thanks for all your good thoughts...
Have attached some pics of us having a play session last night... a strip of waste paper and she was all over the place pouncing on it... :Luv: She was NOT impressed with the pom-pom ball, nor with the fact that she was not allowed supper!!!

Pleased to hear everything went smoothly for the lovely Edna :)

Well, last night I was starting to think Helena (vet) had given Edders a sneaky personality transplant, as she was soooooo affectionate and fussy and loving and I was even allowed to kiss her head!!! :Luv2:
It was as if she didn't know how to eat, but by this morning, her dish was empty and she is already back to swishing her tail in annoyance and screeching at the other cats' who dare to walk past the doorway. I think it's fair to say, Evil Edna is back :evillaugh:
She's currently on breakfast number three!!
Norty black cat :briggin:
