Hi folks,
Sunny Harbour have been chosen as one of the Charity of the Month charities by Animal Friends Insurance for an award of between £1500 and £5000 depending on whether we can achieve the most votes. You probably saw Chester Cat Cares one last month.
If you would consider voting on Facebook for us and asking friends and family to vote we would truly appreciate it. The link to follow is below.

Looks like this is gonna need all the help it can get cos at present only lying third, hope fully dogs and horses were just off to a quicker start.

thanks folks... I am wondering if those people on the page already will be urged to not vote for cat rescue as that has won last 2 months but won't stop us trying :)
Certainly the dog and racehorse are in the lead... just hope we can catch up or preferably overtake but we'll need all the help we can get this month!! :hug:

Wish I could help more but...
My FB has been compromised so anyone I invite or accept as "Friend" now receives Godawful nasty e-mails.
My 11 year old neice was already in my list of contacts before this started and now gets 20 or so spams per day offering her Viagra or saying her Aunt has been F*****g some celebrity >:(
So I'm steering well clear of FB because of this.
God help our youngsters :(

thanks guys for all your help. Paul & I are frantically asking as many cat related or animal related sites, local media etc to help but we just don't seem to be getting anywhere fast :( But we still keep trying!
SO frustrating.... but it won't be for the lack of trying that is for sure. We were a tad annoyed too as a number of local radio pages deleted our message !!
Any help anyone can offer, much appreciated guys thank you!!! xx

Have you put it on your site and on FB?
I added to my FB and I think others but think its from there you will pick up the big numbers.
Still two weeks to go but those dog people are doing very well and horses coming up on the rails. not to mention the orangatans!

I know Gill! all worthy causes we just know how big a difference this could make for the kitties!
We are literally asking everyone we can think of for support all over Facebook... just keep plodding away. We seem to catch up a little over the weekend and then through the week things slip again! :(

This is nail biting stuff as we are only a few votes behind and Paul and I are spending every waking second canvassing for votes. My friends and family are sick of hearing about it! LOL

We are in the last day of voting and Sunny Harbour have finally taken the lead. That said the other larger charities have managed to drum up hundreds of votes quickly so to maintain the lead and a win of the £5000 we desperately need every single extra vote we can muster before midnight tonight.

It was really stressful and hard work for all 4 charities but so glad that everyone gets something whether £1500 or £2000 with Sunny Harbour having the top amount of £5000. So a decent amount for everyone :)

thanks Guys, yes we did Gill, they came forward to give us help and have been great all the way through. Haworth too gave us some much needed help.
We really could not have done it without everyone's amazing support. It just takes the pressure of us a little bit as you all know what a bad year we 've had.
The great news too is that we can now finally afford to the get the repairs done to the pens we originally built 4 years ago that need a bit of re-jigging to get them to the same standard as the 2nd set.

I wasn't so sure the cats would get the top prize this month but knew there is plenty of compensation even if you came last.
But thats excellent, £5000 makes a difference doesn't it!
