Job was cancelled and i am now due away on Tuesday, but concerning the stray cat problem.............
Well let us just say all the heart string pulling He's been doing has worked and after a long talk with the Boss ( Carol ), We have decided to give Stretchy a home ( still haven't decided on a proper name yet ) this decision involves a few condition's, mainly that " I " have to do more around the house i.e. dishes n hoovering
He was vet checked today and was given a clean bill of health, estimated to be about 5-6 years old and weighing 6.6 kilos
Only thing the vet found was an old broken rib injury which has healed a funny way ( sticks out ) heavan knows how that happened??
anyway, I'm tired from all the running about, Here is a Pic of Stretchy the stray chilling out, He is allowed access to the rest of the house now cause he has been treated for Fleas ;)

well done you and stretchy!
-
awwww bless you Stuart - and well done Carole on getting the extra help at home ;)
-
what a lucky boy he is :Luv2:.
-
Stuart you are a star and so is Carole.
For a cat that you thought wouldn't like to be indoors he looks very comfy curled up next to that radiator. ;) :evillaugh: I like the name Stretchy and would keep it. ;D I hope he appreciates his good luck and continues to be trouble free
-
;D
SO pleased!
He is a darling and I, too, think Stretchy is a lovely name.
-
Great news and he looks so comfortable ;D
-
Great news and he looks well at home next to the radiator -i also like the name Stretchy . :Luv2:
-
Looks like it's win, win all round then. ;D
-
The radiator isn't on
Now for a name Rabbie or Robbie ??
-
     now how did we all know thay this would be the outcome. Even Atretchy looks like he is thinking ... "well that was easier than I expected" LOL.
Stuart you are such a big softie .... and that's we love ya! ;)
Congrats to you, Carol and the big furry lump .... I'm sure you will all be very happy together :Luv2:
-
I like Robbie, one night in his rescue place sort of worked in his favour then :evillaugh:
So glad that you will be doing more about the house and that Marissa has a big brother again ;D
-
This is fabulous news Stuart :wow: So pleased for Robbie, and you and Carole of course :) :) :)
-
He is one very lucky kitty to have found you both. Looking forward to hearing lots more about him and congratulations on your new addition.
Stretchy is a nice name but so is Robbie :) ;D
-
Thanks Guy's :)
I initially thought he had always been an outdoor cat, but.... He fairly knows his comforts
and He knows what a litter tray is for :)
Carol sleeps in the front room ( due to me snoring  ) and I usually get too hot anyway
So Robbie spent his first free run of the house night Bed Hopping :evillaugh:
He woke me up a few times by Purring in my Face :Luv: I dunno if it was the trip to the vet's
or the application of the Flea stuff, but he seemed a bit off colour yesterday and had only 2.5
sachets of food, His nose was dry and warm, this morning however it is cold and wet, so far he
has had two sachets of grub.
He is still under house arrest, but I have bought a collar for him from tesco's, Don't know if it's
a safety collar or not ( it has a small clip for fixing instead of a buckle ) it seemed pretty easy to
disconnect, If Robbie ever got his collar caught in something he would get free, But. I wanted to
make it even slacker and rubbed the catch down with sand paper, It basically falls out now
I'll have to get another one :tired:
Will keep you all updated on his Progress ;)
oh btw, I liked Stretchy as a name too, But it will be Robbie now ;)
-
aww well done
i did figure he had adopted you allready though
he looks like a right chunk :wow:
-
Robbie sounds like a very happy cat ;D ;D

Of course he's smiling, he's chosen his perfect slave :evillaugh: . Well done Robbie, and well done to you and Carol for knowing when you've been outmanoeuvred ;D .
-
I keep coming back to gaze at Robbie :Luv2: Has he met Marissa yet?
-
Stuart - Robbie is just gorgeous :Luv2: :Luv2:
I am so pleased you have found each other and what a clever boy he is choosing the best slaves ever.
I really hope it works out for you all
-
Stuart - Robbie looks like he's got his paws right under the duvet! What a handsome dude he is! Is he a cuddlebum? He looks like he should be a cuddlebum! He reminds me of a cat my mum and I had.. Floyd followed me home in Sept 1991 and never left! Beautiful BIG tabby like Robbie and a total sop. X
-
Robbie's definitely looking like he's settled in well!! His plan is clearly right on schedule :evillaugh:
He's a real bruiser of a lad :boxer: but a big softie!! awww....looks like he knew exactly where to go to get an amazing forever home :) :)
-
Yes he is definately grinning and made me smile ;D ;D
-
Stuart - can't tell you how happy this makes me - so pleased for you, Carol and Big Robbie. ;D
Of course, Stretchy was a fab name, and still suits him so well, with that big cheesy grin stretching across his smug chubby chops as he stretches across your bed :Luv2:
I hope Big Robbie snores a little bit too, it'll keep Carol company while you're away at work :evillaugh:
What a result - you treasure, you.
-
He's certainly made himself at home ;) :Luv: :Luv:
-
Thanks Guys :)
erm, Robbie / Robert may be reverted back to Stretchy as it's not sitting well with Carol
FFS it was Her who Didn't like the name Stretchy in the first place
-
I like Stretchy ;D
-
I like Stretchy and Robbie, I like Robbie best though :)
-
Thanks Guys :)

Women's perogative to change her mind
-
:evillaugh: :evillaugh: Well, well, well - am now catching up with things and delighted to read that Stretchy/Robbie [insert change of name here] has got his paws well and truly under the table. He's definitely smiling in that first pic. And well he ought. :) Bless him, he looks a real little charmer. Gorgeous Boy. Definitely ooks like a Robbie tho. ;)
-
Strechy!!! ;D
Mind you, with it having been Burns Night on Wednesday, Robbie is a good name too.
-
Actually - I think he's a Shuggie :evillaugh:
-
Oh, he's lovely, whatever his name ends up being :evillaugh:
What a clever boy to find such a great home.
-
Actually - I think he's a Shuggie :evillaugh:
Or Shuie? (anyone remember Shuie McFee? - Crossroads....no? ok.......... :-[ )
-
I remember Shuie - he was also in a war film - can't recall the name of it, but he was playing the pipes on the beach at Dunkirk. :evillaugh: Might have been "The Longest Day" and I think it was in black and white
-
I definitely prefer Stretchy. ;) Hey Stuart, do a poll.... :evillaugh:
-
I keep coming back to gaze at Robbie :Luv2: Has he met Marissa yet?
Sorry, the internet out here is like dial up  and you could spend 10 minutes typing then the damned pc freezes and you lose
everything at times >:(
Name still pretty much undecided, I might do a poll ;)
Carol calls him Robbie and I still call him Stretchy :evillaugh:
He has met Marissa Helen, but he is uninterested, doesn't even go into her Bedroom, but maybe thats because there isn't a carpet
( Laminated ) and no Comfy Bed ( Cot )
Damn, He spends a lot of time sleeping upstairs  and I think the longest he has stayed in the living room was 20 minutes
Still early days I suppose, He still doesn't seem bothered about wanting outside, although He did sneak out when Carol was hanging
out washing, she thought he was upstairs sleeping  He came back in basically straight away when Carol shook the
Dreamies :evillaugh: never ate any tho
Carol has bought Him a Safety collar so she can hear the bell ( one of them safety collars that you set for the cat's weight or something?)
She won't tell me the price of it tho :shify:
anyway, still got one week to go till i get home
-
Its bitter cold here so dread to think what it must be like on the rig..........outside.
Hope you stay warm and Stretchy/Robbie will be waiting for you when you get home.
If you want a poll I can add one if you like?
-
Why not just give him Robbie Stretchy Burnett a boy always needa a middle name then both his aprent s are happy most of ours have given names and then the one they get as time goes on ;D
-
have to say none of ours are called my official names, Tilly is Tot, Oscar is Skeener, Amber is Bim and Star is Starbee
-
I agree with Liz :innocent: :innocent:
Mine all have other names except Ducha ;D
Lupin is Loopy or Meep. Misa is Misaman and gorgeous hunk lol, Sasa is Sasacat and Miss Sasa.
-
:evillaugh: Too right. Mac gets Macbeenz, or just Beenz, or Macbeenz MacSquee, or stripey jim-jams or Ninja Beenz.... Paddy was the same - Pad The Lad, Paddy Padmeister, The Persil Kid...... ;)
-
aww he looks like maru in the top pic or a ghibli character (totoro!) but im biased towards japanese names ;)
hes lovely and theyre always abit sedentary when they first get into the warm. im sure sparecat only moved for food and litter tray for about 6 weeks!
Its bitter cold here so dread to think what it must be like on the rig..........outside.
Hope you stay warm and Stretchy/Robbie will be waiting for you when you get home.
Echo this, hope youre keeping warm
-
Hmmm Double names seem an excellent idea :evillaugh:
BTW Peeps, it's :censored: Baltic oot here, and I haven't taken my Storm Jacket out with me
but.................. been doing a lot of work ( dragging it out ) in the Main Switchgear room, tis like the Tropics in there :sneaky: :evillaugh:
-
I want tropics LOL
-
Hmmm, holidays in the main switchgear room somewhere in the North Sea. At 1am. Brrrr Keep them Baltics wrapped up, Stuart :shy:
Now you've got me thinking about holidays in the sun... :)
-
Glad to see other peoples cats have evolving names. I told the vet this once about our old cat and he looked at me like I was mad. Our old cat Greycat ended up as Grif, our new two are Buffy - Boo and Xander - Zoid. Although Grif had 14 year to reach her name so these two could have a few more before we get to their real names.
-
Finished working in the switchroom now :( trying to find an alternative bolthole, The external bootlockers have heaters :sneaky: but no real reason to be there, unless we are changing our footware n stuff :shify:, oh well as they say out here, " If it's cold, remember to take Lot's of Frequent T-Break's " hmmmmm, thats never been a problem in the past, even when it's warm :evillaugh:
Great Names Mymbles ;D ;) I think it might be a work in progress thing for Stretchy pooh
