Abe was a rather unconventional family member; she was a mandarin salamander. Just before coming to live with us she'd had two homes in the space of a month because people "got bored" of her. I have no idea how - Abe looked like she was perpetually smiling at you.... :Luv:
She passed away on Friday 13th January, 2012. I have only a rough idea of her age, but she'd been with us six years.
I will miss her happy little soul.
Rest Easy, Abe. Loved always, little one.

RIP Abe, you knew love and care for a wonderful 6 years
-
Aw, she was beautiful!
I'm sure six is a good age for a reptile.
RIP Abe.

RIP Abe :(

Abe was an amphibian. ;) The average is around 10-12 for her species in captivity; my friend is almost certain she was around 9/10. I'll never know for sure....what I do know is that she was very loved and we miss her.

Please don't apologise! Why would you have known? I just wanted to acknowledge what she was - but most of all, she was very dear to me regardless of species.

I'll confess to not knowing the difference between a reptile and an amphibian!
I do like salamanders though, when I've seen them on wildlife programmes.
-
Reptiles = predominantly land animals, amphibians = both land and water. ;) They're amazing creatures, all of them. :)
-
Ah, that makes sense - thanks. :)

She had a grand life with you JS - as near natural as she could get, I would say. A truly gorgeous smiley faced girl.
