can anyone tell me a cat friendly way to keep cat away from a pond cause my friends mum has a cat in the garden that keeps killing her fish shes also worried about the cats safety as she has a dog that given the chance will kill the cat and she really doesnt want that

what about protecting the cat from the dog any suggestions cause there starting to get affraid to let the dog out into the garden completely and its not quite fair on the dog i mean he gets walked but theyd like to be able to let him in the garden from time to time as well

I know nothing about dogs except he should be trained not to go for cats

If the cat can't get to the fish he will not come into the garden, so protecting the fish with a wire mesh will serve to protect the cat too.

Most fish in unprotected ponds are actually taken by birds, not cats. The mesh will keep them out as well.

If you are still worried the cat may be attacked by the dog, make sure there's one hole in the fence big enough for the cat but too small for the dog.

unfortunately its neither me or my friend that have any say in the training of the dog its her parents! so theres not really anything i can do about training of the dog
