I've noticed one of my cats has taken to chasing and eating wasps. I have tried to stop the behavior but its not made much difference. He hasn't come to any harm yet, but I'm worried he may sting his throat and affect his breathing. any advise?

What stopped my lot was to get stung! It was only a paw though so not life threatening

I am afraid I have no advise to give as to how to stop a cat chasing wasps/bees. All I will say is if you suspect a cat did have a wasp/bee in its mouth to contact your vet immediately, if not sooner. My Jessica's sister died after being stung. The owner did go straight to the vet but the vet insisted he took all details name, address etc and by the time he looked at the cat it was dead.

It is the same vet who stated he would rather PTS an unneutered tom than castrate it.

Gill, you can give half a piriton for a sting

Oh thanks Milly, must write that down somewhere,,,,,,,,,,,,would they still need to see a vet as well to be on the safe side?
-
I would still take them after giving them the tab Gill, better safe than sorry.
