well chiana came home crying like mad and she tried to jump into the window but cudnt quite do it so i rushed to the back and she was layed on the grass and my neighbour tried to pick her up and she hopped away pretty much dragging one of her back legs so we rushed her to the rspca vets and by looks of it shes been clipped by a car :'( shes going to be there overnight and im to ring them tomorrow for an update my poor girly had only just got better from feeling bit off but think thats it now shes becoming house cat shes had too many accidents and ive already lost one cat to that road im not going to lose another to it i refuse to
-
Sorry to hear this about chiana, I hope it's good news tomorrow

Hopefully after a night of fluids and pain relief she will be ok in the morning.

Sending positive vibes Chiana's way  Hope she's going to be OK
-
well as i say shes going to become a house cat now cause i already lost riff to that road about 5 months ago and im not losing her to it ppl just have no brains when it comes to that road they speed down it and theres blind corners!
-
Poor girl....
But cats are tough.
She made it home, and she will pull through!!
Our Pinkie, my childhood cat, came home like that when I was 7 or 8, he badly hurt his hind legs and couldn't stand on them at all, but he healed very well. He tended to misjudge the strength of his hind paws after the accident, he never became quite as strong as before, but that was all.
She is in good hands, and she'll be fine, you will see.....
-
So sorry to hear that she has been hurt and dont blame you for keeping her in from now on
I am sure she will recover and be as good as new soon
-
Oh No :( Sending healing vibes Chiana's way

Hope Chiana's OK.
-
well spoke to the vets today and she had a dislocated hip they put it bk in but shes gotta stay in for pain relief
-
She is in the best place and am sure that she will also need cage rest until it stabalizes, So pleasaed nothing is broken
-
Good news that nothing was broken, you must be relieved
-
if she needs a cage when at home there is a problem i dont have one or the funds to get one
-
You are right they are bloomin expensive but your vet maybe able to loan you one, but of course she may not need one but your vet will advise
-
well rang the vets again today and apparently the sling they put on her has had to be taken off as her foot swelled and its going to be reapplied once the swelling has gone down ive asked them to fuss her a little if they get time and apparently shes bin getting lots of fussin

-
Poor Chiana, hopefully when the sling is reapplied her foot won't swell again. Bet she is getting lots of fuss by the nurses. Are you able to visit her or do they not allow it?
-
they might allow it as i used to volunteer with them but id have to get 2 buses to get there and well the money that id be spending on bus ticket needs to go towards the vet bill
-
Sending lots of good wishes to Chiana
-
i wish i still volunteered there but the cost of getting there is just too much to make on a constant basis
-
spoken to the vets again shes gotta stay in atleast 1 more night :( im missing my girly without her salem is well i cant put it politely as much as i love him hes annoying the hell outta me i know its cause hes missing her
-
You must both be missing her  but better she spends an extra night or two at the vets than has to go back because they have let her out sooner than they should. Hope Salem settles down a bit for you
-
Agree with Jiji
-
i hope salem calms down aswell but think its all bit much for him hes barely gotten over riff passing away
-
shes home but the problem she does need cage rest and i dont have one apparently if it comes out again itll mean an expensive op that the rspca cant afford to do so if anyone lives in the manchester area and can lend me one id appreciate it greatly at the moment the solution has been to tie the 2 large carriers i have together and shes really not liking it
-
Try contacting your local CP and see if they can lend you a pen or a large dog crate would do at a push
-
:get well: healing vibes for Chiana
hope you find a cage somewhere
-
someone in flixton are might have one for me my sister got in contact with her through freegle she says she will need it back but thats fine aslong as chiana gets enough rest and heals
-
but think for future when i get some pennies in i might buy one for just in case
-
I hope you get the cage on loan cos it will make a lot of difference, she probably still wont like it but its the best for her.......wish I was closer cos could lend you one cos Ducha was on cage rest in Jan /feb cos he broke a wrist.
Sending lots of good vibes
-

You could always keep your eye on the free ad sites etc.
Pleased Chiana is back home with you and once you have the loan of a cage hopefully it won't be long until she is back to her usual self
-
salem keeps being really cute and sitting on top of one of the carriers and it seems to calm her down
-
Bless him, he is probably so glad to have her back :)
-
got her in the cage now its a little cramped for her but its better than the carriers tied together
-
How long does she need to be in the cage?
-
not sure ill find out next week when she goes for check up
-
heres a pic of her in it im still trying to get a slightly bigger one in case she needs to be in there for a while
-
She is just gorgeous and hope she doesnt have to be cage rested too long
-
next to the cage is a really old hostess trolley that i was thinking about eventually turning into a scratch pos and salem has got on the pillow on the lower shelf and gone to sleep right next to chiana :Luv:
-
What a beautiful girl :Luv: so glad you were able to borrow a cage and as Gill says hopefully she will not be on cage rest for too long
-
i always appreciate comments on how beautiful she is lol ive always felt shes got quite striking colouring and have to say she came from a very beautiful litter
-
I used the clip on water bowls from the cat carry boxes on my cratesm gives some more space and stops them treading in it making more mess, my other comment would be a lot less litter in the tray, as its a sod to clean up and gets every where, also I use a hooded bed takes up less space than the blanket and gives more cage space
Its usually about 6 7 weeks cage rest when this type of things happen
-
i havent got the money for all those things though and tbh even though it looks like a lot of litter its just a small layer of litter its just when i was putting it in the it tilted and gathered all at one side im sure she will do fine atleast for the moment
-
she's lovely :Luv2:
-
funnily enough shes actually quite happy in the cage i think shes loving being centre of a attention
-
just thought id give an update chiana is doing ok shes gotta go bk to the vets on friday salem has been stealing chianas food through the bars and today chiana decided to get her own bk and start hitting him through the bars whilst salem was watching me eat biscuits
-
Sounds like they still love each other :evillaugh:
So pleased she is doing well and hope vet visit goes well
-
the thing im more worried about is the bus journeys there and back cause cant get anyone to give me a lift im just concerned shes going to get jolted on the bus
-
Naughty Salem pinching Chiana's food :evillaugh: It's good to hear she is doing well and hopefully the bus journey won't be too bad, if she will just lay down she should be ok I think
-
I think that she should be safe in her carrier as surely not too much room for her to be jolted.........if there is loads of room maybe you need to make it a bit smaller wirg blankets.
-
i might make it bit smaller by putting a pillow in there
-
another update the vet checked her over and said her hip is healing nicely and she can come out of the cage for light exercise and in about 4 weeks she can come out of it completely and she doesnt need to go bk to the vets apart from for her boosters
-
good news, four weeks will soon pass
-
she almost slipped out and then she heard car outside and she was petrified
-
bless her. Glad to hear she is doing well!
-
salem is watching over her right now :D
-
Pleased to hear the vet visit went well, just hope she behaves herself and does not try to get outside again yet. It's good that Salem is keeping his eye on her :)
-
Keep a close eye on her as everything is going so well ;D
-
it was my fault i left the bathroom window open will be keeping closer eye on here
-
well ive been letting chiana out of the cage for light exercise the only problem is chiana doesnt know the meaning of light exercise shes been bouncing from one piece of furniture to another ive also done something in memory of my riffster i have an almost completely hollowed out log out back and i put his old collar and some tulip bulbs in there cause they should bloom around his birthday and around the time he passed away my neighbour also found his old old collar that he lost last december so i put that in there as well
-
it was my fault i left the bathroom window open will be keeping closer eye on here
Hope your kitty makes a full recovery. As to the windows,a cheap solution is to get some thin chain from the hardware store, cut into 6 inch lengths & attatch to the window & the frame.I've done this to all my windows.

its funny u should suggest that cause i talked something similar through with my housing and they said i will incur a fine for doing that :( as i don't have permission for it and i asked about getting permission and they said there isnt a way to get permission for something like that :( most of the time which ever room i have the window open i keep the door closed so she cant get in there anyway
