Title: Short raffle
Post by: Desley (booktigger) on April 27, 2007, 21:20:19 PM
We were given a handknitted bagpuss last night to sell at our fundraiser on Sun, and wanted to see if anyone on here wanted to buy tickets first, the plan is for you to pay by paypal, and I shall have a list of people and number of tickets, to write on the tickets on Sun. Tickets are £1 a go, and obviously all money is to go to CAT77 Shaw.

Lisa, do you have a debit account? If so, go to:www.paypal.co.uk and it should instruct you on how to fill in your details.

Des do we pay to the normal Cat77 paypal account hun? I 'll get some tickets.

Paypal is a way to send money through someone's email address to their paypal account.  It is free to set your own paypal  secure account up and you will need a debit or credit card so they can draw funds to send the money from your bank to the persons email addy. This will automatically add funds to their paypal account and they can then transfer money to their bank account. It;s a way of sending money without giving bank details out.
You can open a free account here https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_send-money.

There are plenty of sites now incl ebay that have paypal buttons that you can pay with a card and not have a paypal account at all but to send money without a paypal button, you will need an paypal free paypal account. Our shop will have paypal buttons so peeps can pay by cards and do not need a paypal account.

(nope i aint on commssion lol  )

Yep, the normal paypal account - which I thought was on here somewhere, but Lisa couldnt' find it yesterday, so dont ask me what it actually is!! I leave that side up to Kelly!! Raffle will be drawn at the end of tomorrows funday, I will accept pledges, but if you pledge, win and dont pay, it will be redrawn.
Hannah, if you have paypal that is the best way - while we can accept cheques, if you only want a ticket or 2, at £1 a go, it might not be worth you writing a cheque for it!! But if you want to, do feel free.
Thanks for all your support guys, as tomorrow is a charity day, with mainly animal charities, I suspect Bagpuss will go down well, I just wish I had thought of asking the woman at work who was impressed if she wanted to buy a ticket!!

Thanks Tan - the plan is for me to write names on the back of raffle tickets tomorrow, to make sure they are included, so could people pm me with how many they have bought, so I can make up a list tonight of how many I need to include? I shall be leaving the house at 8.30 in the morning though, I will check this thread before going.

Had a really good day today, we raised £154.50, I was hoping for £150 at each fundraiser, so defo achieved it. My neighbours won the raffle, which I am quite pleased about, saves me having to package it up to send!! We got the RSPCA lady to pick for us, to make it fair.

i am slightly tired actually C, it was worse when the alarm went off at 6.30, I couldnt' figure out why!! Yet yesterday, when I didn't have to get up early, I Was wide awake at 5.30 and couldnt get back to sleep!!
It was a lot of money Tab, much better than the charity market in Nov, we didn't take the amount we have done today the whole of the weekend!!
It is a shame in a way that we had a fundraiser this weekend, or we could have auctioned bagpuss off longer on here.
