Title: 2 out of 3 kittens eating but not drinking

my kittens are 8 weeks old,,all 3 are  eating really well but 2 are not drinking milk or water. at mo we using the syringes that u get with baby medicines sometimes, how can i introduce them to bowl,, they have tried once but as soon as they get ther tngues in the fluid they shake their heads.. lol. ive hand reared kittens before but yrs ago when i lived with parents.

You could try adding a slosh of water to their wet food, or maybe as they are babies they could have some Whiskas kitten milk or similar. Mine used to drink kitten milk but weren't interested in water - why would they be though when they could have yummy milk instead!  :naughty:

we have got the kitten milk, we put bowls of water, kitten milk & normal milk out.. i will try the idea of a little water in food

would advise pretty strongly against normal milk ..... water in food sounds excellent

we have got the kitten milk, we put bowls of water, kitten milk & normal milk out.. i will try the idea of a little water in food


You must NOT give the kittens normal milk....it could make them extremely ill
At 8wks old they should actually just be having water, however if you want to give them any kind of milk use a kitten replacement milk (not the supermarket stuff)

good job they dont drink the normal milk at all then... we always had kitten milk for gypsy, shes only one that drinks it.

I would mix cat milk in to their wet food to make a mush my two former ferals aged 13 weeks actually wait now for a bowl of cat milk after their breakfast before they settle for a snooze and the same again at tea time
