Well I have heard back now.....but, it seems the reason Mr Darcy came into rescue is because he was bullying the two other cats in the household AND the dog! That doesnt bode well for homing him in multi cat household methinks :shify: They were actually willing for me to give him a try because of my persian experience and having integrated lots of cats before....but, I don't think its wise, shame because apparently he is a big softee - with people.. :)
-
You and your gorgeous lot might be the ones to help calm Mr D down ;)

Thats sad cos how could a big softy looking like Mr Darcy be a bully
-
You might give him a chance...
Maybe one of your lot will know how to keep him in check...
My Klaatu was a bully, too, except in my house, where he was kept in check by Spetter. And we simply grabbed him and sweeped him out of our chairs before he even knew what hit him....
But if you allowed yourself to be impressed by his attitude, he was the boss.
I had to rehome him, in the end, but not because he was terrorising my other cats, like he did in the rescue centre. Klaatu just chose his own home, and he didn't settle for one. He adopted every household in the neighbourhood, claimed the best chair or sofa, and the steaks and chicken filets, and did not accept no for an answer.
People were scared of him, and hated him for stealing meat and fish from the stove and dining table.
But we never had any problems with him in our home, we had to rehome him for what he got up to in the neighbours' houses....
And we once took in a persian cross who attacked all other cats, dogs and even people.
She was 16 and deaf when she moved in, Looked around, hissed and spat at the other cats for a bit, and simply took over the household. The other cats agreed she was the boss, left her in peace, and that was it. For 2 years, we had a peaceful household with 5 cats, reigned by an ancient deaf persian cross.
It was deaf old Milady Precious who taught my other cats not to be afraid of thunder or fireworks.
She ignored it (well, she didn't hear it, of course) and so the others decided it was nothing to be afraid of, as SHE was so obviously unafraid. Milady Precious has been gone for over 3 years, now, but still none of our cats is afraid of fireworks, they still seem to teach the new ones that 'Precious showed us there is nothing to be scared of'.
So if you and your cats have the right attitude to tame Mr Darcy, or to live happily under his rule, he might do very well with you.

Thats sort of what I'd be worried about..... :scared: Harry (redhead ;) moggie), I'm sure, would try to keep him in check, and Ben (persian - who looks just as soft and soppy as Mr Darcy, but has been known to turn into attilla the hun with certain cats!
