Title: Can anyone recommend some good/safe wipes for cats
Post by: Philip on July 03, 2011, 17:25:04 PM
Just wondered if anyone can recommend some good wipes that are safe for cats.

One of my ragdoll girls, Saba recently got cystitis and her "bits" still look a bit sore.

I have given her a bath, but she is so fluffy that it takes a very long time to dry her lol.

 :thanks:

I would try some saline solution, if she will let you bathe her sore bits. About 1 tablespoon of salt to 1/2 pint warm water. Any stronger and it will sting, and you won't be popular.

Otherwise it wil be a trip to the Vet.

PS. Please don't use human creams or ointments on her as some of these can be extremely toxic to felines. (Not being patronising, but some people don't know)

Thank you. Really appreciated.

I wouldn't dare use human products on any of my cats.

When Nekos stomach was bad, the vet said i could use sudocream on his bottom.she said just a little tho. savlon is ok for cuts so id imagine is also ok but you dont want to allow them to lick sore areas in general anyway.
for cleaning you can buy bathing wipes in pets at home but tbh id be inclined to go with clean jaycloth and boiled+ cooled water (so that you dont introduce anything to possibly broken skin)
