I have attached a picture of Jakey who came home today! :) I hope it works????
He seems really confident to move around and explore, he is purring abit near the door but not allowed to let him out for afew weeks bless him. thank you all so much for your advice on cat bed, i got him a fleece beanbag and he seems to be clawing it alot? that normal? lol.
He is too busy mooching around the house at the mo lol.
I just hoping he uses his litter tray! lol Any idea when he will first use it???? Hours? day or so???
Cats protection have given me lots of leaflets so this afternoon will be spent reading them and this site to get all in the know lol :)
I'm so pleased Jakey seems really happy bless him. Tho he already trying to find a home on the sofa! hehe
Regarding my allergy, well my nose is runny but that is all, so should be fine in afew days i hope. Doesn't seem to bother me at the mo :)

Sounds like he is settling in well bless him. I would have thought he would use the litter tray in hours rather than days?! not sure though sorry.
Perhaps he is putting his scent on the bean bag by clawing it? god that was rubbish advice lol :rofl:

many of us have reported their cats going 24 hrs before having a pee when taking into their new house.
cats have scent glands in their front paws and will scent mark like this or scratching etc..also many cats "pad" a comfy bed so perhaps this is all it is, he certainly doesnt sound stressed does he LOL
beware with the bean bag tho.....SOME cats rather like the feel of bean bags to pee on !!

awww, congratulations on your fufbaby! :welcome:Jakey!! He's lovely. My eldest cat Broxi has an old fleece of mine that I eventually had to stop wearing 'cause he loved to 'pad' me when I was wearing it. It now lies underneath his scratch post and he goes and kneads it all the time, purring like mad lol! Also my middle cat Cooper (a B&W like Jakey) didn't use the litter tray for a day and a half when he first came home. I wouldn't worry about it at all! Enjoy your kittie! :)

aww thank that put my mind at rest hun, tho he has just been on his litter tray and then i heard scruffing around and the wood is all piled so i "assume" he has used the tray! Ha! Thank you guys so much for being there for me, its sooo reassuring to have advice readily available, esspecially with it being my first cat, thanks peeps your gems :) xxx

With regards to your allergy you will probably find in time you will become immune to him. I am slightly allergic to other peoples cats however I have no problems with my own ... and a few sniffles and snuffles are always outweighed by the love and fun you will get from your baby. ;)
