Title: age for re-homing - advice please?
Post by: midgecat on June 05, 2011, 22:06:39 PM
After all the angst about my two litters of kittens they're now happy healthy kits and all but one has been reserved for when they're ready for rehoming.  I seem to have read so many different opinions about how old they should be when they go - anything from 5 weeks to 12 weeks.  They're currently 7/8 weeks.

Also been told  that mums need to have their kits away by 8 weeks so their milk can dry up and they be spayed.

Trying desperately to do my best with this - but can't see the wood for the trees.  Does anyone have some useful advice?  Would be very much appreciated.

8 to 12 weeks is the timescale, 8 weeks the absolute minimum.

depends if you are getting them jabbed or not? for cats that have all injections they are usally kept until 13 weeks
