The vet advised that we worm Drum 'n' Bass in the Spring, even though they're indoor cats. Drum has recently taken an interest in mosying around the garden so it's probably a good idea but do other people worm their indoor cats?
Also, I'm confused about the number of products on the market - would be grateful for recommendations (and also any to avoid).
Lastly, can my girls be Frontlined at the same time as being wormed, or is it best to wait a while between the two treatments (and if so, how long)?
:thanks:

fleas are part of the worm cycle.
Can be wormed at same time. I prefer Milbemax as they are small tablets, Drontal also ok and can be bought away from vets and of course some flea products also contain worming meds - these are more expensive but can be used every 3 - 6 months instead of a frontline.

As Angie says
Milbemax or drontal for worming -
Stronghold and frontline Combi cover worms but DON'T cover tape worms (which is the worm that is connected to the flea)
Infact I am pretty sure there isn't a flea product that covers the tape worm

That's right, most of the flea products that do other things don't do tapeworm.
If your cat doesn't take tablets too well you could always try Profender spot on or droncit spot on, I think they both do tape and roundworm.

Due to relatively small size of pill and it's OKish taste, Milbemax is preferred here but is prescription only medicine (POM). Drontal is rather large and seems to taste  but is not POM so cheaper and easier to get.
We have 7 puds sharing our home and sticking the Milbemax pill in a bit of Webbox stick for each of em means I can pill all 7 within minutes ;).
Make sure you check dosage with weight though.
Frontline for flea control also OK as long as puds are easy to handle ....

We do Program injections on all of ours for Fleas and Ticks, dogs get the Program Plus tablets plus Millibex and Drontal and Profender for those 3 darling boys who don't go to the vet thankyou Ace, Blue and Riley for that one

:thanks:
I'm going to try Drontal, since it's easier to get hold of. I don't think I'll have any trouble getting Drum to take a pill but Bass will be a different matter cos she's super fussy about everything - so I might as well go for the one which is easier (and cheaper) to get.
-
I was totally wrong!
Bass ate her Drontal (in two halves) stuck to a cat treat.
Drum wouldn't be tricked, so I had to drop it down her throat - the noise she made was heartbreaking, and she didn't come near me for the rest of the day. I will have to look for an alternative next time!

Is there a spot-on treatment for all worms and fleas?
-
There is but are two seperate apllications and must be administered some days/week aparts

Someone told me Advocate works on fleas and worms. Unless it's not all worms?
-
I have been rather put off Advocate since poor Spike (RIP)
