Title: STOP Suffering at CABOODLE RANCH
Post by: Foxxys Mum on March 10, 2011, 19:56:11 PM
Some of you may have heard about a cat sanctuary in Florida called 'Caboodle Ranch'.
Although I'm sure the owner, Craig, started the shelter for cats with all good intentions, it seems that things have gone tragically down hill, and many of the cats are now sick and dying. They are living in filthy conditions without proper health care and are being aloud to breed. Coyotes are also able to enter the shelter and kill cats by jumping the inadequate fencing. A group of 'Angels' have taken up the challenge to stop the suffering at Caboodle Ranch and have asked everybody to spread the word.
So please please sign the petition and visit 'Caboodle Angels' web site and face book page, and lets all pull together to help those poor cats.  :scared:

People may be interested in reading the statement from Craig the owner of Caboodle Ranch in order to get a balanced view before signing the petition. Just so you get information from everyone. You can find it here on his home page.

He denies that cats are suffering and is accusing a minority of people of being malicious. He seems pretty genuine to me?

As I posted on the other thread about this on the Urgent Rescue board. The owner of Caboodle Ranch has issued a statement in connection with these allegations. I would suggest that people read it before signing the petition in order to get a balanced view from both sides and then you can make your own mind up as to whether to sign the petition or not.

You can read his statement here:

Honeysuckle thankyou for posting that link, this thread has caused me immense heartache, I`ll admit to feeling better about things now.

it wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened, I remember a certain rescue accused of similar and the people involved in making the accusations ended up having to take out a full page ad apologising in one of the cat magazines

Thank you Honeysuckle cos I was wondering after Yvonnes post and not willing to sign anything until I knew more.

I am sure all our rescues can and have posted pictures of terribley injured cats and cats in bad condition, as explain on your link.

Those are often the cats that have broken everyones hearts and the finished cared for cat is a different thing altogether.

I think that if people are concerned it can't harm a t least having it checked out which is what they're asking for (presumably they've asked and not got anywhere).  Hopefully there are no problems but it's better to be safe than sorry I think and if things are fine the owner won't mind checks being done.
