This may be more of a rescue questions but thought I would put in here so more people would see :)
I need a fact sheet explaining how to properly care for a mum and kittens with advice on there CLEARLY explaining why kittens MUST stay with their mum until they are AT LEAST 8 weeks old.
Looked on CP, FAB etc but can't find one.
If anyone has one they can send me or has a link to one that would be great.
BTW its not for me, obviously lol! I've found out about another one of those situations! Facebook friend has a male cat who fathered a litter. FB friend is easy to convince, she loves animals but is a bit uneducated. Owner of mum cat is *naughty word* and is trying to "get rid" of the kittens even though they are only 5 weeks :( Don't worry, I am doing all I can!

Cheers Angie :)
I thought this had come up before! I really would have thought CP or one of the others would have had info on mum and kittens *sigh*
I'm hoping to get over there at the weekend via my friend but don't want to pester my friend too much otherwise she will think I am too overbearing and probably start to ignore (as she is only a Facebook friend really lol). I'm also trying to persuade my friend to say that both cats are hers so she can get neutering vouchers for them both and even offer to take both cats to the vets at the same time. I'm trying, I really am

I had to walk away from a thread on another forum espousing the benefits of taking on too young kittens and how attached and better natured they are than kittens who stay with mum till they're supposed to :tired:

We know you are.

Yeah well I have had to pick up the pieces of a kitten that was given away at 4 weeks old when it 17 weeks old and you all know my naughty tortie Miffy can hardly believe she will be 3 years old at the end of this month

This is what I'm worried about. Some people are just too ignorant and don't care then I end up worrying about their cats and it upsets me.
Apparently someone is going round to see the kittens at the weekend, I'm hoping I can get to this potential owner and the owner of mum before any kittens are taken.
I'm getting fed up of picking up after whatless people and I don't even do that much rescue stuff myself :(

2 went today :(
The only saving grace is that they went together and my friend got the ladies number and gave her all the information I passed on. She said that if the kittens aren't doing ok she will bring them back to be with mum for a bit longer BUT she shouldn't have taken them in the first place
I hope they will be ok :'(
