First attempt at a photo re-sizing... testing testing. ;D
Introducing Big Sam, we adopted him at 8 years old from a young family who had been allowing their toddler to abuse him. Sam had been so stressed he'd overgroomed all the fur off his back legs and tummy, poor sod looked like a really bad poodle cut.
He was underfed, too, really skinny, very nervous, peeing and fighting. The family said he ate only Iams dry, we since discovered he has a grain intolerance that affected his mood so Iams was absolutely the wrong food for Sam. He also needed his teeth de-scaling as he had gingivitis so had not been comfortable feeding.
Eventually Sam swiped the brat and got kicked out for standing up for himself. We found him through Anna's North London Rescue :Luv:, it has taken us nearly four years to turn him into the gentle, loving boy he is today, although he's still got a bit of a short fuse as a result of the abuse. He still absolutely adores children, especially little girls, despite the treatment he got from the toddler.
Love ya Sam!

he is great, one of ours was a cruelty case and when she sat on my lap after three years of living with me I knew we'd changed things for her!

Our Anna (RIP) was a rescue cat who suffered abuse too. She was living with an elderly woman who had dementia and so she often used to abuse the cat.
We got her when she was 5.. it took about 2 years for her to come out of hiding and trust us enough for us to touch her etc.
