Something very fishy in that story.........says its cross so effectively a moggie and at end wants proff of its pedigree!

The story obviously been sold to the press and the guy sounds like a backstreet breeder to me and more worried about money than the cat.............well done that vet  :shify: :shify:

What doesn't make sense is vets always makes people sign a consent form. Either there is or isn't one   :shify:

Even if they are illiterate chavs, an X would do  :evillaugh:

Yeay for the vet...! ;) Sorry, terrible behaviour. Fancy performing an op without the owners consent.

Nice one Mr Vet!! The girlfriend would have signed a consent form so they will have proof that she agreed to the op anyway.

How the hell does the man think his cat is worth £2500 anyway?  It wouldn't be worth that much if it was a registered pedigree BSH let alone a moggy!

Hmmm is someone trying to get a freebie out of the vets I wonder (think about it x-rays, and initial op).  I think the consent would have been given by his partner and she is just too scared to admit it to him, for all we know he could beat women and hence why she denies it.

As the cat is not a pedigree can't see the problem or has he gone in there saying it was a pedigree when having a go at the vets.

I just hope for the vets sake they haven't overlooked the consent form. Sounds like this person is trying it on. Unless the cat is purebred, there is no way they could claim for loss of stud fees. He wouldn't stand a chance saying the girlfriend wasn't authorised to sign anything - if she was the one that took the cat in then her sig would have been good enough.

My vet also recommends blood testing before neutering.

Couldn't have put it better  ;D

I imagine the £2500 is what the "owner" wants for lost revenue for the kittens.  Oh hang on - it's a male - so how was that going to work?  If he was planning on hiring out the cat as a stud there'd be no takers amongst breeders and I cant' see your average joe bloggs, who wants to make some money from his female cat having kittens, paying when he can just let the female out to mate with any Tom, Fluffy or Pedro.

But you're right about the consent form - I hope the vet has one and dont' end up paying out.
