Title: Chloe-cat has gone to the Bridge
Post by: Wibblechick on December 28, 2010, 17:19:12 PM
Please do move this if Ive posted in the wrong section

I just wanted to let everyone know, who knew her from Purrs, that Chloe went to the Bridge this afternoon.

Chloe was 19

This afternoon, just after lunch she had her normal cat treats.  Then she was very suddenly taken ill.  I will spare you the details.  We rushed her straight down to our wondeful vet, but ....

He thinks she had probably had a major stroke.  She had lost her sight and - with everything else added in ....

Its odd, but its almost EXACTLY 5 months to the day that Mr T went.  I reckon he needed Chloe to make him a cake - he obviously missed that this Christmas

I will post something a bit later on the Rainbow Bridge page - but for now Id better go and look after Kieron, who is going to miss Chloe very, very much indeed

And for all those who remember Chloe (& Mr T) - two pictures that seem appropriate

They were both such characters and brought to life by your good self, had so much fun in the parties and hunting and fishing etc  ;D

I am so saddened to see this, at least you had a final Christmas together before she joined Mr T at the bridge.

Thinking of you Chris.

Sorry to hear your very sad news.

I don't know Chloe's history but 19 is a fantastic age and you must have given each other many happy years.

RIP Chloe.

I'm so sorry to hear this Chris and, as Gill said, it feels like the end of an era.  No more Chloe cake.  :(  When  those of us who knew her only through Purrs can feel the loss so deeply I can only imagine how much worse the pain is for you and Kieron.  My heart goes out to you at this sad time.

Fly free Chloe where there is no pain and remember us all to Mr T.  :Luv2:  :Luv2:

Thank you all - it helps so much to share all this ....

and of course, in a while when the many, many tears have all been shed and the healing process has had time to take effect,  there will then be a door open for two more little furry people ......

I couldn't believe it when I read your post, as we had just been remembering our little Chloe who we lost 5 years ago today, also aged 19  :(

You and Kieron must be heartbroken

Your Chloe was a very beautiful girl.  She will be greatly missed by many of us.

RIP Chloe

Thank you all - reading the messages helps a lot

Weve lost our routine right now - I dont think one realises how much life can revolve around small, furry people until that changes.   :(

Its nearly fourteen years since there was no cat here . . . .

Feel free to call me mad, but both of us are convinced that Mr T came back last night for a visit.  We heard him in the kitchen (he had a very distinctive sound he made, walking across our kitchen floor) We caught brief glimpses of movement and the best bit was waking in the night and hearing him purring beside me

And Im convinced that, in time, Chloe will visit us too

I doubt the house will remain empty for long - news soon goes out on the cat grape-vine and who knows - before long we may have a whole new cat era & two new "Purr-sonalities" posting here and carrying on the tradition

So sorry to hear your sad news.

I have been visited by a past feline friend, so I don't think you are mad at all.
It's a wonderful sign of a very strong bond between you.
I expect he chose now to come and give you comfort, and to guide Chloe's spirit on her way.

God Bless Chloe

Jas

Not mad at all!

I'm not religious or even particularly spiritual but I'm convinced my last cat Jones visited me a couple of times. I swear he jumped on my bed one night!

If you're mad then so are lots of us chuck.

I still feel Smudge around me and it's nearly 4 years now.  In the 4 years that I've had Bonnie she's never slept on the pillow next to mine - which was Smudge's place - but a few nights ago I woke up and she was laid there asleep - I cried so much - I felt that Smudge had finally come and said she was allowed to sleep on his pillow.

It will be super to have 2 more little darlings to carry on the traditions of Chloe and Mr T.  :Luv2:  :Luv:
