So! still no Thimble, which is sad, the search continues.
However, I decided that maybe looking after some new cats would be a good idea, as on apersonal level I have been very sad and lonely.
So, I spoke to the lovely Angie at Coventry Cats and we decided I could do some fostering.
Lo and behold a week later the lovely Bubble and Squeak arrived. Black and white 5 month old sisters, (my personal favourite colours for cats). The young lad who brought them round explained he'd had a split from his girlfriend and so he couldn't afford to keep them and he was out at work all day as well. He looked gutted when he left, bless him.
So the cage was opened and they trotted out, immediately sniffing everything and jumping up on the sofa to say hi. Squeak literally squeaks instead of a meow, it's very sweet.
So we've had them here 4 nights. they both sat on my lap within 3 hours which surprised me for a start! they adore cuddles and bubble has an obsession with kneading while squeak likes to lick :-)
They met my step daughters at the weekend as they stayed over, and put up with a lot of chasing around, they mostly enjoyed it!
so today I had an email about a possible adopter for them....so my converstion with my boyfriend last night came back to me 'why don;t we just keep them' I argued that wasn't the idea of fostering.... But the thought of them going to live somewhere else made me feel ill!
So! we're keeping them! It's official! I am a FAILED FOSTERER! We're very, very happy. and here are a pic. Bubble has more white. She also likes to climb the curtains...

bless them what a pair of cuties

I'm going to have to report a bizarre and serious outbreak of the dreaded failed foster syndrome - it seems to be epidemic in the Coventry Area.
If any rescues are visiting this neck of the woods please make sure you are up to date with your inoculations.

:evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh: To fail at fostering after only 4 nights..... Appawlling! Is that some kind of record? At least I took 2 weeks before taking Groucho off the CP website. OK so everyone said they always knew he was goin' nowehere .... :innocent:
They're fabulous :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:. They remind me of our Gandolf and Tom when they were youngsters. Are they keeping their names?
Congratulations on your new additions and hope Thimble forgives you quickly when she returns and finds 2 sisters

I'm still fighting the temptation of my two rescued powder puffs...bought them their own special cat tree thingy today...woops!!
Will you still be able to foster or are you too full up now (or scared of keeping any more lol)?
I hope Thimble likes her two little sisters when she finally comes home :)

It took about 5 minutes with Cas. The deed was done before he was in the car ......... ;)
Perhaps we just have a more appealing stray population? :innocent:

What gorgeous girls! :Luv2: :1st place: Hopefully one day they'll get to meet their big sister too

   I rather suspect YOU are a carrier of this dreadful condition!

They are adorable and am sure they will love Thimble when she comes home ;D

Don't feel bad as on occassions I have failed at fostering but some just seem to get under the skin and into the heart more than others.
Shortest time was 5 minutes before I adopted and longest was 10 months. The 10 month one was one I had had trouble getting upto neutering weight and after 11 months of that cat and the others being in CP care a week and half before bonfire night they were going to be placed back in the colony they came from. There is no way on this earth that she would have survived a winter as at the time at over a year old and spayed only weighed in at 5.3 Kilos
By the way they are cuties that you have taken on.

   I'm shocked. :evillaugh:

I think there's something wrong with me because I've never failed at fostering. :scared: Maybe I'm immune? :shify: Could I possibly be producing antibodies and they could make a vaccine from me? :-: Or Maybe I'm just a hard-hearted cow because I can't wait to shift them out the door?
They are a lush pair of kittens though. Congratulations! :naughty:

I currently probably hold the world record for failed fostering, but I dont care because Cas is like my baby...though he was dying to talk to Angie on the phone last night, nearly had the phone out of my hand, so maybe he'd be anyones ;)
Congrats on your two new additions Becka!
Are you going to continue fostering? I dont think I'll ever be able to say no lol!
-
Thanks everyone.
and hee hee to you becks :-) Some cats just tell you your theirs and that's the end of it!
We can't foster any more as only a 2 bedroomed flat, and i'd only want to keep them all!! Maybe one day when we have a bigger house and garden (fingers crossed)
Bubble & Squeak are keeping their names as I think it's mean to change them now, not that anyone had taught them their names! They are still being suoper adorable although did smash a lovely vase. that's life with kittens though! I was more worried they were hurt but luckily not. If thimble were here they'd all be having a right party together I reckon, she was very naughty at times.

Julie , I for one am VERY glad you are not a failed fosterer or two certain ginger boys would be eating you out of house and home instead of me right now! :Luv2: :Luv2:
Bubble and Squeak are adorable - I wouldn't want to give em up either! ;)

I suffer from the condition too ;) Trying therapy, and I think its working because I've just resisted temptation :innocent: how long that will last though, I don't know! ;)

Oh yes, so true, little Crunchie kitten was like that, he just kept looking up at me with those soulful eyes.........and now I feel like I've given away one of my own cats :(
-
I'm so pleased you are a failed fosterer. Bubble and squeak are absolutely adorable and they certainly know which side theor bread is buttered.
-
Thats great news! Hope Thimble comes back and you will have three cats!
I am also a failed fosterer, lasted about 5 months though! Hes called Squeak too! (his brother was called Bubble!)
