I somehow got talking cat with a checkout woman today after a woman stopped by to tell her she was getting her some bird seed at wholesale price. I said that reminded me I needed to get some as the robins are making do with cat biscuits. She said she loved cats but lived with her mum who doesn't like them. She said she just had to make do with feeding the strays that live in her garden. I said it wasn't the best time of year, but had she thought about contacting CP about sorting them out. She said she already had early in the summer. I think she said there were 13 in all including kittens. Apparently, we took all the kittens to rehome & TNRd the adults who are quite feral. It sort of rings a bell. I imagine Angela (pudding) dealt with this :)

Cat lovers attract cat lovers, that's why you were drawn to her till :naughty: I've been feeding the birds on a bird table in my front garden and have soooo many vistors now from robins right the way up to massive fat posh looking pigeons!

I seem to always get the cat owners that work on the check out and a couple of times they mention the amount of cat food and then go on to say that they are so jealous of me as they have just lost their cats to CRF. It is then that I mention that I have one that has it and was diagnosed now over 22 months ago. They always then ask how she is doing and say fine at the moment. I always say to them to contact the rescues when they feel ready to get another cat as there are so many needing loving homes.

I hope that restores a little of your faith in humanity, Mark, as I know it's been knocked many times.

It is nice to meet people like that. I think it made her day as well. She was all smiley and said have a nice day (not in an Amercian way :evillaugh: ) etc and was smiling when I left :)

There's a girl in our little local Sainsbury's who I always talk about cats with, probably because I'm always popping in for some cat food or litter so we always ask how each others puds are :) I've gotten into a few conversations with people at work too when they ask me about our cat products
