I didn't get them as I was waiting to see if I could get them cheaper. They look easy to put on with a screwdriver

They haven't got them online, only in the shop. They are £17.99 each (quite expensive!)

They are called window restrictors

I saw a cheap one on www.toolstation.com but not sure if its good enough (about £4) with the one from B&Q you can choose the position depending on how far you want the window to open

Pic of cheap one but only has one position

The B&Q ones are white so don't look so industrial

Have you tried looking on ebay? There's lots of things come up in a search for window restrictor, such as http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WHITE-UPVC-DOOR-OR-WINDOW-SAFETY-RESTRICTOR_W0QQitemZ190102570789QQihZ009QQcategoryZ41978QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Could be completely different things you're looking for, but have a look and see if they have the right thing on ebay. Things can be so much cheaper on there sometimes.

Sorry I haven't been on since yesterday. The B&Q ones are for wood frames but it looks like the ebay ones OK  ;D
