Post by: jeremys_mummy on November 01, 2010, 20:55:25 PM
I was at the vets today with my cat Rolo waiting to collect him, when in walk this woman with a kitten in a very dirty dripping wet dish cloth the kitten was struggling to breath open mouth breathing there was a a few people waiting to be seen by the reception staff to pay there bills pick up medication etc so the woman decided to have a little read of the posters around the surgery not in any way distressed that this kitten was dying when she finally decided to notify the staff of her presence she went on to say we found this kitten implying it wasn't hers the staff were trying to find out what was going on when the woman said oh its been like this for 2 days!!!!!!!!! all the time the vet nurse was getting more and more angry trying to help the kitten and find out if it had eaten something etc she turned around and said i dunno were have been on holiday for 2 weeks we just left them with loads of food!! so angry they really didn't care the owner of the cat was fagging it outside and refused to come in a speak to the vet until she had finished her fag!!!!

I'm surprised she actually bothered to take it to the vet.  :tired:

Fingers crossed the little one will pull through.  :(  And I hope it won't be going home with her again.  >:(

WTF? That's appalling. You did well to hold your tongue, I'd have been ranting and raging (not that it would have helped!) People are utterly ridiculous. I remember leaving little Thimble overnight  and really worrying. Of course she was perfectly fine, she probably slept the whole time virtually! but 2 weeks!? What would possess someone? And these people have children and treat them ridiculously also no doubt..... My sterilise stupid people idea sounds better every day... :sneaky: :sneaky: :sneaky:

I hope the kitten survived and i hope the vets reported the woman to the RSPCA!

B :Luv2:

Surely this woman can be reported to the RSPCA?

BTW, just wondering - do vets have a duty to report cases like this?

I know that vets have been known to report people if they think an animal is under weight.  Think this could be one of the times that a vet may report.
