Title: Ticks - what is the best method to eradicate
Post by: le chat noir on November 01, 2010, 09:49:28 AM
Ticks are very common in rural France. We still have our visiting ginger ninja and he has turned up the last 3 mornings for his breakfast with a head full of tiny ticks that are already sucking and small white ones that look as if they are just forming.

What is the best course of action to get rid of these things - he was front lined 2 weeks ago (not a flea in sight) and we have been removing the ticks daily with a tick comb.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Apparently frontline kills ticks : http://www.frontlinekillsfleas.co.uk/page/1gsy7/About_Us/FAQ_about_Ticks.html

We use a device that looks like the foot of a sewing machine. You slide it over the tick and twist and the tick looses grip and falls off. Then you have to stomp on it - not pleasant.  We call it a tick spanner.  :evillaugh:
