It's a canon EOS 500D with an EX series flashlight.

15 megapixel digital SLR. Have lenses already from my EOS 400D which is broken.

I took these shots in auto mode as i'm experimenting.

But i'm learning about how to use the creative side of the camera

You can tell the difference between the 400D and the 500D. The clarity is phenomenal.

The 500D uses the same new Digic 4 processor which higher end models use.

The lens that comes with it has built in image stabilisation that can be turned on or off using a switch on the lens.

The speed of shooting is faster than the 400D and it just feels better in you're hand  :-:

Reviews I have read indicate you can shoot around 90 shots continuously before the memory buffer fills up.

I'm going to get my 400D fixed but I'm very glad I upgraded.

If you do upgrade you will need a class 6 or higher SDHC memory card. The camera also takes HD video (720 at 30 frames/sec and 1080 at 20 frames/sec).

:Luv2: You're just trying to convince me I need a proper flash aren't you?

Maybe a christmas and birthday present for myself...

Lol.

I have to say though that an external flashlight does really reduce the amount of redeye in cat photography.

 ;)

Have you tried the video Phillip? I have read that you need HD equipment to be able to see it and download it, or it doesnt work. Also there is maybe a a problem with focusing when recording?

Is it the 500D you have cos cant see a 600d except in the rumour machine LOL

It is a 500D. There is no 600D.

I have tried the video. Its excellent quality although you can only record up to 30 minutes because any longer classes it as a video recording device that is then more Taxable. The camera has a HDMI output but it comes with a lead that you can connect to a standard tv connection (Yellow RCA plug).

You press a button on the back to focus whilst in video mode instead of the focusing ring of the lens.

Thanks Phillip and think I lost a very good package in last two days but couldnt afford it any way lol.

Nobody in reveiws has mentioned this lead and didnt see it as part of any package not that that means its not there  :innocent:

Sounds and looks from your pictures a fab camera.
