1.
"Hello - I am an old customer and would like to return my moggie to your care"
This woman gave me the full background - ie when she adopted 4 years ago, her ex husband had been having an affair and it was just her and her daughter and a cat seemed the right thing to do. She fell in love with the cat but more recently, she has fallen in love with a man who has bronchial asthma caused by the cat and "you have to put humans first don't you" :tired: - she was giving me her address and I had to asked her to repeat it 3 times - she said it was because she was crying. I said we had a waiting list but she said "Please please please - come and pick her up this afternoon"
It isn't going to happen - I passed this one to Angela :shy:
2. "Hello - I need to rehome my 3 year old cat (acquired from neighbour as a kitten). He isn't happy. He spends most of the time outside and bites my children. He is really unhappy. I love him and only want what's best for him etc. I told her the score and mentioned direct rehoming. She then mentioned he was going to be neutered soon  - I pointed out the obvious - that he would settled down etc etc etc. She said several people had told her this but she begged to differ. I told her that her opinion differed with all the animal experts in that case :evillaugh: - She said he doesn't try it on with her female cat - well he did once and she had kittens :-: - I said if she is neutered, he won't be interested - she said the girl isn't neutered :-: but he isn't interested in her any more.
I ended the call before I let myself say what I felt like saying. Hopefully Julie or someone can confirm knock some sense into her

You did well to control yourself at the moment.
I've had a couple calls of 15year old cats this week and I only think of my poor old girl here and these :censored: are trying to offload theirs.

I can't believe even the dimmest of people don't know that un-neutered males and unspayed females will have kittens!!  I feel so sorry for these poor cats just being offloaded all the time cos something 'better' comes along! :'(

It's when you get the ones who when you suggest that their male and female should be neutered to avoid the obvious happening exclaim with horror "But they are brother and sister!"
Edited for spelling - IE6 causing problems cos I can't see everything I type

That explains SUCH a lot!
