Our two have had their first course (Tricat Trio) and are due for their second next week, and the surgery has said it will cost between £30 and £40 (depending on what they've had before - OH didn't have their cards with him when he booked the appointment this morning). Am I right in thinking this sounds a bit pricey?
-
Sounds about right. We are in Brum.

I take it that's a new course rather than boosters?
My vets charge £48.00 for the first part of the triple vac (flu, enteritis & felv) then £28.50 for the second part so £76.50 in total.
For the double vac (flu & enteritis) the first part is £29.50 then £13.50 for the second part so £43.00 in total.
Boosters each year are £48.00 for the triple vac or £29.50 for the double vac.

Yes it is the first course. I'm not sure what they should have - double or triple? They're indoor cats, should that make a difference?
I don't begrudge the expense, just wanted to know if this was particularly expensive or not.

As I understand it felv can only be caught through direct contact with other cats whereas flu and enteritis could be brought into the house by us humans. My two cats only have access to the catproof garden so don't come into contact with other cats hence I only vaccinate them against the 'double' which is flu & enteritis. That is still fine to be accepted into catteries etc Double vac at my vets is £43 inclusive for the first course and £29.50 for the yearly booster so quite a big price difference for something that is not needed ie Triple vac £76.50 inclusive for the first course then £48.00 for the yearly booster.

Full first course is £56.22 and yearly boosters are £33.30 at my vets.
-
At our vets its £57.50 for 1st course and £28 for boosters ( that is without the Leukemia part)
-
£40.00 for the first injections this includes the second lot and then £30.00 for the annuel booster and £30.00 twice a year for the Programme injection all ours have except dera Ace - Blue had his done 18 months ago and hasn't been since and doubt Riley will make it back next year - yup all 3 are Big Bad Feral boys who get Profendered and we have a worming how the hell we did last time spreadsheet!
-
Actually the last times the girls have been for their boosters it has been a vaccination amnesty and I have got them both done for half price! It wasn't planned but it was a bonus

Thanks all, nice to know my local vet isn't OTT!
