I found this page after answering the Freekibblekat trivia question & looked up what breed my Daisy is.She's a British Short Hair & the blurb on the site about her breed is so bloody accurate!!
So what breed do you slave for?

Owner's Guide
The British Shorthair, probably the oldest English breed of cat, traces its ancestry back to the domestic cat of Rome. This breed was first prized for its physical strength and hunting ability, but soon became equally recognized and valued for its calm demeanor, strength and loyalty to people.
The British Shorthair is a fairly rare cat in the United States, but "Brits" are gaining in popularity every year. Because of its easy-going nature and intelligence, it has become a favorite of animal trainers, for use in Hollywood films and television commercials.
The British Shorthair has a short plush coat with a luxurious feel that is very easy to groom. Although first known as the British Blue, due to the breed's original color, their coats now come in a wide variety of colors.
A British Shorthair is always in quiet control of his or her environment, supervising everyone and everything that happens in the family. He is compact, confident and powerful. Females are smaller than males and this breed takes a full 3-5 years to reach adulthood.
A larger sized cat that prefers to be on the ground, Brits are not known for acrobatics or speed. However, they are devoted companions to the entire family and definitely look before they leap. When clumsiness is observed, the British Shorthair is embarrassed, but quickly recovers with a "Cheshire Cat smile."
Yup...That's Daisy! ;D

I am owned by 1 x moggy; 1 x "blonde" ginger lump and 2 X Abyssinians. Obviously the Abys (or rather Zephyr) is in charge here and according to his profile I have been "trained"
Abyssinians are loyal, love to be around people and are very intelligent. They are eager to play and very curious in all surroundings. It is also said that these cats are very good at "training" their owners!

1 moggy and 1 somali here. The somali breed profile is accurate for the most part
http://www.petside.com/breeds/somali.php
very intelligent cat, its zest for life and love of play (many will fetch toys, open cupboards, and play with water) blossom with human companionship.......
lively, alert, and actively engaged in everything that piques their curiosity - but when playtime is over, they will seek all the attention and affection their caretakers are willing to give.
I do think that Mosi pushes the "actively engaged in everything that piques their curiosity" to the limit!

Love the 'mog - rat' name haha!
I have one devon rex varient, Migs, she is an absolute madam and 100% owns us. She is fussy yet moody, very intelligent and knows exactly what she wants. We put new lino down in the kitchen and the strips cut off the side turned out to be the best toy she had ever encountered. We put a piece of it on the coffee table (which she isn't allowed on and knows it) and she was doing a meerkat impression for ages looking at it... she eventually decided to try and get it whilst we weren't looking. She is a monkey and complete lapcat.
She is also a bit of a thief... known to steal things from handbags.. ie keyrings and things!
The Devon personality has been aptly described as a cross between a cat, a monkey, and "Dennis the Menace." Devons are highly active, playful and involved with everything. Powerful jumpers, very few spots large enough to hold them will not be explored and occupied. Devons have been found climbing brick fireplaces and perching on top of doors. Although little escapes a Devon's interest, Devons are very people-oriented. Most Devons invite themselves along for every activity -- preferably perched on a shoulder, lap, or wherever they can be closest to their people. They are accomplished food mooches, with "anything they aren't supposed to be into" only slightly less appealing than "anything you are eating." Many a bag of snack food left unattended for an eyeblink has suddenly sprouted two legs and a tail, with a Devon contentedly grazing inside.
Also a semi long haired black and white boy called Flea... I have no idea what he is. His previous owner told me his mum was half persian but I know most none cat people describe long haired cats as persian. He is super silky and so I don't know... he reminds me of a balinese we had!
-
Er lets see ...... :um: yup seven moggies run our house :)

mine are just mogs and actually before Effie I would never have considered a blackcat and now I would never not have one. She is so beautiful and just as stunning to me as another cat with markings. It upsets me to think of black (and b&W) cats being overlooked.
I see it with friends, they say Isn't she stunning about Ella and Effie gets a hello! :P
-
I have one very large long haired B&W moggieman.........Misa (Misha) aka Misaman aka Soggie Moggie
One largish semi longhaired calico tortie madam who hates people and is semi feral.........Sasa (Sasha)
Birman one seal pointed, loud, far too intelligent, and acts like a sheep.........Franta Napoleon
His litter brother Birman two, Blue pointed, now copying Franta, has 3 legs and is a slim line.........Ducha (Dooka) Wellington aka Slinky Minky aka Purrboy
The 3 boys are very jealous, Misa hates the birmans and vice versa!
Sasa, well Sasa is easy she does her own thing. ;D

I'm shocked that b&w cat's like my Daisy get overlooked! Mind you it did take me a while to get used to her unique markings on the face, but she's such a loving cat,I now cant imagine life without her. :Luv:

I am ruled by 7 cats and only one is a pedigree and that is Danita a Russian Blue.
Hmm sorry to say I would lean more towards Effie but there again I am biased as have 3 black cats and then have a b & w cat as well. I know what you mean about all black and B&W cats being overlooked but to me they are the more beautiful ones, but must admit when Danita walked into my house and was not claimed there was no way I would of let her go.
