Not sure what the deal is, but stumbled across this.

just checked this out and its works for my area. Gutted that all my dentist vet needs are over from last week. This would have come in handy.

Anyone want to make the most of this? Certain vet practices are providing free dental checks for pets this month cos of a promotion called Pet Smile Month. There's a list of veterinary practices taking part - go to http://www.petsmile.org/ and put in your postcode and it lets you know the closest vets. After I took the cat's to the vet, I had a look on the internet for dental kit, so I can take care of them better at home. Got a dual ended veterinary toothbrush, a finger brush and some CET toothpaste from http://www.vetuk.co.uk/dental-care-products-c-11 too. Should prove interesting!!! Does anyone know of a safe way to approach a cat to do their teeth without requiring a blood transfusion at the end? Not sure I have the skill of the vet! :)

I just put a post on too! Bloody cracking idea!!

I wouldn't even dream of trying to brush a cat's teeth... certainly not any of the cats I've come across. :evillaugh:

There are often free exams for different things. A few months ago it was free weight checks and diet advice. At the moment my vet is offering free kennel cough jabs for dogs. :sneaky: It's a good way to get folks to bring in their animals and register as patients... and while they are having free check ups for this, that and the other the vets will grab the chance to flog them something esle like flea treatments and wormers. Cynical moo, aren't I? :evillaugh:

I'm thinking it may be dangerous! I've only just recovered from the hoohaa of worming tablets... :) I was always told you should do something that scares you at least once a day. This may be it!

They are only offering a free check-up, not treatment. Maybe a mod can merge this with my thread.
