For the last couple of days, he has started flinching when he tries to eat. I was worried that his mouth was becoming ulcerated. Knowing how stressy he is, I booked a home visit yesterday for Thursday with the idea that if he got worse, I would take him in. Last night and this morning, he was even worse. It seems like he wants to eat but it hurts his mouth. Luckily our vet is open for 2 hrs on Sunday mornings - Jeremy the vet, has checked his mouth and there is no ulceration - I think his expression was "clean as a whistle" - he also thought 'ulcers' going by my description. Anyway, he has been given something to help his appetite - I forget the name, but I think it is an anti-emetic - he was also given a vit-B jab. Jeremy said if he doesn't improve by tomorrow, he wants to try him for 24hrs on fluids.
-
Mark we have all paws crossed here for Clapton
Also  for you and Dennis - they do so worry us don't they
-
Thanks Liz
I don't think we will be getting any more animals, as much as we love them.
-
Poor Clapton, I hope that the meds help him to feel much better and you can find out what the problem is
-
Poor Clapton :care: Hope he perks up soon
The worry and stress is the price we pay for their love
-
Sorry to hear Clapton's had to have a vet visit
Fingers and toes crossed that his appetite picks up again soon xx
-
Hope Clapton picks up. They are such a worry.
  to you all
Zoe
-
Hpe Clapton is feeling better and has tried some breakfast today x
-
Hope his appetite improves
-
He is eating on & off but soft poos again. He is still doing the flinching thing, but we are convinced it is more of an aversion thing as he was chowing down on turkey yesterday?
He has been going out looking for grass. He even spent 1/2 hour in the garden this morning, which gave me time to change the bed which was smeared with Katalax and looked pretty
I am going to attempt to give him some more SEB today. Its funny but he can sniff out a pill that I can't even smell, yet he happily ate pieces of turkey breast yesterday that were dusted in SEB, which stinks
I am lightly mashing food in Jelly which he is OK eating. He even had a good go at some Purina renal wet yesterday :) - the frustrating thing is, he will eat some from a new can, but refuses it if it has been in the fridge - even if I leave it out to get to room temp. At over £1 for a small can, he is becoming an expensive cat :evillaugh:
We have to face facts. He is getting quite frail and has had CRF for years. During the consult on Saturday, the vet said something that luckily, OH didn't pick up on - "What do you want to do" - I know exactly what he meant :(
One thing I mentioned on Saturday is that Clapton is getting tremors in his front legs - the vet said it goes with muscle wastage - one of the reasons I am loathe to restrict protein too much - I just want to make sure it is quality protein. I tried to tempt him with egg on Sunday but he isn't interested. Jeremy said I should just worry about getting food into him at the moment without tampering with it with binders, pills etc.
He has missed 3 days of meds as since he had his mouth done, he doesn't wolf anything down - he finds the pill without fail. I have been racking my brain how do stop him smelling it. I even had a wacky idea this morning of melting some sugar and suspending the pill in a small blob.
-
Fingers crossed he perks up a bit
-
He has been in the garden twice today. The second time for over an hour. I am beginning to wonder if the meds make him too lethargic. He never goes out usually thesedays - it was so nice to see him lying out there asleep :Luv2:
-
The antacid and the anti-nausea drugs don't seem to be helping him much. I have been trying to warn OH that Clapton's quality of life isn't good and that his time is getting close :(
I think I need to speak to the vet about stopping his Benazecare as it doesn't help the lethargy. I said I would rather see him alert and behave like a cat for a couple of months than spend many months in a stupor.
-
I am sorry to hear that things aren't helping him Mark. Unfortunately you can only help the decline of their kidneys for so long, but you have given him so much quality time since his diagnosis.
-
Oh Mark I feel for you, I really do  If the drug isn't helping him, then I would definitely discuss this further with your vet. You know Clapton better than anyone else
-
:(
I know exactly where you're coming from Mark, it's so agonising when you would do anything to make them better and enjoy life but sometimes there's just nothing more that can be tried as your options run out
Big :care: for Clapton
-
Awww poor Clapton. Hugs to you both Mark, I hope that the vet can help you some more
-
Mark  for you Dennis and Clapton its so diffiuclt to have that conversation especially when one doesn't want to acknowledge it = I will behaving this one with Robin about Sweetie so we send lots of good thoughts for you all
I have decided to let Sweetie have a happy 6 months rather than a longer not so happy time
-
Thanks :)
The vet has suggested trying him on fluids. I am really torn on this one. Clapton is OHs cat and he has already told me he doesn't want me doing subQs or assisted feeding - also he thinks that with Clapton being such a sensitive soul, being at the vets on intravenous fluids will make him depressed and scared; as if we have abandoned him. My reason for wondering if fluids are worth trying is because it is such a short-lived thing. He isn't majorly dehydrated, but I suppose they could help to flush out some of the toxins.
-
Thinking of you, Dennis and Clapton
-
Trying to think of what to post Mark but just want you to know I love Clapton and trust your instinct completely
-
 to you all
-
  to you Dennis and Clapton
-
More hugs from me to all of you.
-
So wish there was a way to ease the pain
-
Thanks everyone :shy:
I really know why they call it a rollercoaster. I gave him Metoclopramide yesterday morning as he was hunched and swallowing etc. I was reluctant to leave him but had a class. I went to Aldi as it is near the hospital. I thought I would try their own brand senior food. When I got back, he was still in the garden. I gave him some expecting him to start swallowing etc, but he started eating. For some reason, he has a lot of trouble eating since his mouth was done last - as if his mouth is smaller. Just before bedtime, he spent a few hours up in the bedroom and ate some more. Just before bed time, he came down again and wanted to go out. OH didn't want him outside but I said that for some reason, he won't drink from the inside bowls - so we have to allow him outside whenever he wants. He was still out there this morning; head down, swallowing etc. I went to get the meds and he decided to come in. I took him more Aldi senior up with binders and he started scoffing  - he then went to the bowl of Aldi senior biscuits (dusted in binders) and had a good go at those - then went back to the wet ;D - I know he isn't 'better' and is likely to be nauseous again soon. It is so difficult.
-
Sorry Mark, don't envy you the decision  at least he has perked up a bit by the sound of it, but as you say, it is a rollercoaster. Thinking of you and OH
-
Hugs for you, your OH and Clapton xxx
-
You and Dennis are in my thoughts - I know you both adore Clapton and will do what ever is the best for him.
-
It is a rollercoaster Mark, and all you can do is take each day at a time, and see what happens. With things like this you can't plan what you should think or do, you just have to deal with what arises, which is exactly what you are both doing.
He's still wanting to eat which is very good, Max would have days where he'd hardly move, not want to eat and keep doing the gulping/lip smacking thing as he felt nauseous, then the next day he'd be hungry again, it was so unpredictable :-[
-
Willow was the same. I do think Clapton has a lot of fight in him - but there is a limit. According to the vet, stage 4 means he only has 10% of functioning kidneys left :(
-
I would accept OH's decision with fluids, especially if it would mean leaving him at the vets, he doesn't sound liek the kind of cat who would cope very well, and it wouldn't cure him.
-
Thinking of you and Clapton & OH.
I agree with Clare if Clapton still wanting to eat is good sign, with Phoebe towards the end i had to really push her to eat and that was cuz i wanted her to take her tablets :( I remember some mornings i used to sit here with all different raw meats and treats and just trying i wish i hadnt now because in the end the tablets wasnt that important and i was just stressing her and myself :(
You are in my thoughts.
-
I will never forgive myself for trying to syringe mushed a/d into Willow. She moved suddenly and the syringe bashed in her mouth which was (I didn't know at the time) badly ulcerated. I think it is one thing to use assisted feeding etc for a cat with an acute condition, but when they are near the end and all it will do is stress and upset them, I really think it is time to let them go. :(
Anyway, he was 1/2 nauseous this morning. I tried renal food without any luck. I decided to give him a small amount of go-cat senior (emergency stash) which seemed to settle his stomach. I am scraping the barrel for renal foods now. I have a bag of RC renal coming today - I haven't tried that for ages. Also about the only renal thing I haven't tried yet - Eukanuba renal dry. I know it is Iams but if he will eat it, I will buy it.
-
   I know what you're going through Mark and really feel for you, OH and Clapton.
-
Thanks Carol :shy:
Well the RC dry was ignored but he gave the paws up to the Eukanuba. I won't buy Iams as there are plenty of alternatives but if he will eat this, I will keep ordering. Annoyingly, the bag is 3kg but not resealable. I will have to buy a something airtight to keep it in.
-
I can only get on Purrs now and again, but always look for Clapton's thread.
He really is an amazing cat to have fought this for so long (with a bit of help from his humans!).
I really wish you could have one more Christmas together, but I guess you have to take things day to day now.

but sold lots of other places too
-
 Mark,
It's so sad when they sit there hunched up.
You know whats best for him, anyway xx
-
Mark I've only just seen this and I'm really sorry to hear Clapton isn't doing too good :(
I know you will do best by him and keep him happy and comfortable and give him lots of love.
This must be such a difficult time for you guys, its something most of us have unfortunately been through so we all know what your going through and will all be here for you (((hugs)))
-
  Just sending hugs for you all Mark, poor Clapton :(
When our vet suggested taking Schui in for fluids etc I said no that he would be so stressed away from home he'd go downhill and that we'd try him at home first. Thankfully he pulled through at home and started to eat again. When he wouldn't eat I never forced him but just gently coaxed him with whatever he liked and cat milk, I spoon fed him where he was I took the food to him, anything to get him eating again.
-
Hope Clapton has eaten a bit more today
-
He turned his nose up at the RC renal pouch, felix foil tray, Asda senior and RC renal dry this morning but he finally gave in and had a really good go at the Eukanuba dry :)
OH says I shouldn't keep putting things in front of him when he obviously doesn't want them, but I have found that if he refuses a food and moves away, I can put it in front of him again and he will eat some. I sometimes have to go through this 4 or 5 times before he will decide to eat . If he was obviously nauseous, I wouldn't do it, but it often does the trick. I have pointed out that it is a slippery slope and getting him to eat a bit will make him eat a bit more later etc. I also think that it settles his tum. He seems to be worse in the morning. The nausea seems to have gone a bit for now and he hasn't thrown up for 3 days :). For about 2 weeks, I was changing the duvet cover and a few times the duvet itself, every day - just as well we have 60o washable spundown duvets :evillaugh:

I looked at them in Lakeland yesterday. I didn't buy any as even the jumbo ones were only about 6" long - I was thinking that I would need one to go the whole length of the bag. I thought about it later and it would probably just need to be as big as the opening on the bag had I just cut a corner :-[

He is at the vet on a drip :(
He ate this morning and went out for a drink. just before 11am, he wanted to go out again. OH was in the garden and called me out. He said Clapton was straining in different parts of the garden. My first thought was a blockage. I rang the vets who were closing in 10 minutes. They said to bring him in straight away and they would wait. We got there are 11.20. It was compacted poo. The vet was going to give him an enema but he produced a big solid poo on the table which she said saved her a job. Anyway, she said he is very dehydrated and recommended him going on a drip immediately. Despite what I said previously, I said that it didn't sound like we had a choice. She said if we took him home, he would shut down over the next day or so and that going on fluids was his only chance. I asked about longer hydration as I heard it was good. She said that if he responds over the next 24hrs, she agrees it would be a good idea to continue - however, if he doesn't, we will have to think about letting him go :'(
-
Poor baby :( Have everything crossed he can pull through, must be so worrying for you both
-
Poor Clapton :'( Thinking of you all xxx
-
poor Clapton sending lots of . hope he pulls through

I do hope that you have good news later, will you be ringing later today?
-
Mark I'm so sorry to hear this, haven't been around much so was a shock to see
-
Oh Mark really sorry to hear Clapton is poorly. Hopefully the fluids will help him feel better.
Sending you and Dennis loads of these
-
will you be ringing later today?
No - they only have a nurse on duty until they open tomorrow (with emergency vet on call if needed)
She has our number and will phone if need be. I need to go to college tomorrow - I can't start missing lectures unless it is an emergency.
-
I hope the fluids help

-
What a horrible time for you all   Lets hope the fluids improve things and he is back home with you soon.
Andrea.

Thanks everyone :shy:
We had a call about 15 minutes ago from the nurse. She said Clapton has settled down in a warm fluffy bed and had a wee. So far, he hasn't eaten the renal food they gave him - if he still hasn't touched it by morning, they will offer him some regular food. Another one of my worries is no vet (and I couldn't expect them to) is going to offer him 10 or more different foods in a day and coax him into eating. He did eat this morning amazingly - this was before the squatting started. (I think it was the 3rd of 4th type of food offered - Tesco own brand chicken supermeat with binders. It does have a nice sloppy consistency perfect for licking
We are trying to distract ourselves and remember that he couldn't be in a better place. I know the majority of vets have nobody on site overnight.
I actually missed the phone the first time and warned Dennis to brace himself. I called back straight away but got the answerphone. The nurse called right back :)

So sorry Mark - hoping and praying he can keep on fighting.

I'm praying that the fluids work Mark, and that he's strong enough to keep fighting

Hi Mark, would your vet let you go in to feed Clapton if he is not eating by tomorrow. We did this recently when Leo was at the vets on a drip and it really seemed to help him, nice pictures by the way :Luv2:

Sending lots of good vibes to Clapton and lots of thoughts to you and Dennis
-
Thanks everyone :shy: - he is a strong boy and I hope he still has some fight in him :Luv2:
Force feeding isn't going to happen though. I think quality of life is important and to me, it doesn't include fear and stress. His wellbeing is the only thing that matters. I still have hope and even ordered him a large flectabed today.
-
Awww, bless :Luv: he'll love his new bed I'm sure
I agree about the force feeding Mark, I've never done it and it's not something I'd be happy to do myself.
-
Thanks everyone :shy: - he is a strong boy and I hope he still has some fight in him :Luv2:

So glad you are being positive Mark. Just want you to know you, OH and of course Clapton are very much in my thoughts day by day
-
Mark I appear to have missed this thread (I don't come in here often)
   to you and OH, keeping everything crossed for you that Clapton keeps fighting.
-
I so agree that fear and stress is not quality of life and do hope that Clapton is a little better today
-
Sorry to say that I am just off to pick up Dennis from the station so we can go to say goodbye to our lovely boy :'(
I spoke to Craig, the vet in my break at college. He was doing an op but wanted to speak to me - I knew then it was bad news :( - he said Clapton is severely anaemic (he wasn't when bloods were done last) - he gave him a bag of haemoglobin but it didn't help - apart from that, all his other numbers are off the scale and the nausea hasn't improved. He said it wouldn't be fair to keep him going as he will only get worse. All we can do is spare him some suffering :(
I feel sorry for Dennis having to sit on the train. I lost it at college and one of the girls gave me a cuddle. She went to tell the lecturer that I wouldn't be back today. I didn't hear her as I was leaving OH a message, but she came out of the lecture and called down to me that she understood :shy:
Anyway, not looking forward to this but we have no choice for Clapton's sake.
Ironically, the next slide had I gone back was pica and other behaviours.
-
So sorry Mark. Thinking of you all :'(
-

-
oh so sorry mark
sleep sweet clapton xx
-
Thanks everyone
It was very peaceful. They gave us all the time we wanted to say goodbye before and afterwards. Craig explained again to OH that the time was right to avoid any suffering. What made it harder is he was purring for us - something he would never do at the vets normally :( - He was even nuzzling us. At one point, he even sat up. I think he used up the last of his strength doing that, as he then turned away and buried his face in the towel. Craig explained to OH that it wouldn't frighten Clapton and that he really would just go to sleep but it would go one step further. Dennis kneeled down and cuddled & stroked him while Craig syringed the fluid into Clapton's IV tube. He was gone in seconds :( - They allowed us to stay with him for as long as we wanted and leave by the back door.
He really had the lovliest temperament of any cat I have ever know - despite having so many health issues. We are going to miss our boy so much :'(

Clapton was the most loved and cherished cat - nothing was too much trouble, or expense, to give him the best of lives
now he has been given that final loving gift, and sent on his way to the Bridge with a lifetime of care to speed him on his way
but I am so sad for you and Dennis, who will miss him so much

I'm so sorry Mark, my thoughts are with you and Dennis. You gave him the ultimate act of love as his slaves, he obviously knew it was time and wanted to thank you for letting him go when he was ready. I have shed a little tear for Clapton, he was a very special boy.

RIP dear Clapton,
you'll be sorely missed xx
-
Mark I'm so sorry  :hug:I was reading this thread earlier today but didn't know what to write as a reply. I haven't been a Purrs member for long enough to know much about Clapton but I can tell he was very very loved and he passed away with the two people who he loved the most by his side.
-
RIP Clapton you'll never be forgotten. Mark lots of
-
I am really sorry to hear this Mark, but you gave him so much, and that allowed him to fight for all this time, and then strong enough to take his suffering on yourself. He will always be in your hearts. RIP little one

similarly, I have not been on here long either, but Clapton was one spoilt kitty with doting kitty parents and I am sorry to hear your sad news.

Oh Mark I am so sorry. :'( I have been watching this thread all day. Clapton was beautiful and doted on by his beloved staff xx
Take care x

Thanks everyone. We are just so glad he isn't suffering now. Craig said the his kidneys were so tiny, they had given up producing red bloods cells. The inside of his little mouth was blue :(
Thinking back to better times - Willow (died 2/1/10) used to tease him mercilessly but he always took it well :Luv2: (excuse the horrible brown window - it was replaced before the house was sold)
This was about 6 years ago.

Sorry to hear about Clapton
With heavy hearts; and a tear in our eyes
after all these years; we must say goodbye
Please understand; we've done all we could
if there was anything we could do; you know we would
I'm sitting right here; gently rubbing your ears
while I talk to you softly; trying to hold back the tears
The memories you gave us; we'll never forget
especially the ones; of the day we all met
One last hug; and one last kiss
you have no idea; how much you'll be missed
To look into your eyes; this one last time
you tell me it's ok; you know it's your time
Close your eyes now; and go to sleep
we'll pray forever you're soul to keep
Go in peace now; our good friend
we'll stay right here with you; until the end
Dream of that special day and time
when we'll meet at the Bridge; and all will be fine
We'll run and play; side by side
with a soft warm feeling; deep down inside
Your memory will live on; in each one of us
you'll always be number 1; to all of us
Have a safe journey; through the night
I promise when you awake; you'll be in eternal light
So with heavy hearts; and tears in our eyes
just for now my friend; we say goodbye
:RIP: :candle: :RIP: :candle: :RIP: :candle:

Love to you and dennis
Clapton was a handsome boy x
-
Oh no Mark I am so sorry to hear that it was time for you and Dennis to say goodbye to Clapton :'( I'm sure he had a lovely life with you and I hope that in time, you will be able to look back fondly and smile about Clapton again xxx
-
Mark I'm so sorry, am sending all my love to you and Dennis, it was clear that you loved your boy so much, and of course darling Clapton knew that right up to the very end with the purrs and nuzzles
RIP Clapton baby :'(

So sorry Mark, to you and Dennis. Clapton had a wonderful life with you and nobody could have done more for him - your love for him shone through in your posts - my thoughts are with you.
-
Mark, Dennis. I'm so very sorry. Am thinking of you. X
-
-
Thanks everyone
Thanks to those who sent PMs - Sorry I haven't got round to replying. Dennis is going to work from home today - I am going to college and will see how I go. Probably better to take my mind of things - also I can't afford to miss genetics lectures :scared:
It really does seem odd without him here and really weird not spending half of my morning time trying to make sure he has eaten something and clearing up 1/2 dozen or so dishes of uneaten food.
-
Oh Mark I am so sorry to be reading this,  to you and Dennis
RIP Clapton
-
Sending you both lots of
I found the days after the actual loss were the worse
-
So sorry to hear this Mark, Clapton obviously lived a lovely life with you, and knew he was loved until the very end. You did the best you could for him and didn't let him suffer needlessly. Sending lots of love to you and Dennis  RIP Clapton you handsome boy, free from pain now at Rainbow Bridge
-
I am so very sorry Mark and Dennis - thinking of you both
RIP sweet Clapton - play hard at the Bridge until your Daddies come to collect you xxx
-
Oh my goodness I have only just seen this. I am so so sorry Mark :'( I am sending lots of love and hugs to you and Dennis.
Have fun at the bridge Clapton xxx
-
Thanks everyone
OH said he felt guilty this morning as he felt emotionless. I said I'm sure it will come back in waves :(
I just keep getting flashbacks of his little face :(. I was trying to gently massage his eyes closed but they wouldn't stay closed :(
-
So sorry Mark and Dennis. Hopefully in time you will be able to think that the purring meant you allowed Clapton to go peacefully not a day too early nor a day too late.
-
Thanks :)
Not sure if this is the proper place to post, but OH has really surprised me.
I had a nap and when I came down, he was looking at the homing pages :shify: - He said that the idea of taking in another needy cat appeals and would be what Clapton would have wanted - especially a shy one with health issues. I am keeping out of this. All I have said is that bearing in mind, the care is down to me, forget any cats that need a lot of grooming - ie Persians. Apart from that I am open to the idea. We would have to bear in mind that we have 2 tough old birds in Alice and Kylie. I wouldn't want noses out of joint or Kylie being sidelined again. I don't think this will be something we rush into.
-
Thanks :)

Awwww I think thats lovely!
As you say, take a back seat and let Dennis do what he needs to do....
but there is one very lucky cat out there somewhere ;)
-
That would be the greatest tribute to your special boy but you'll both know when is right for you
-
Take your time Mark...you've suffered a great loss. Do what feels right for both of you x
-
I've only just seen this.
I'm so very sorry
-
Sorry Mark :'(
-
Aw, Mark, I think it's natural to look for something positive or to look to the future after a blow like this. Dennis is only trying to make sense of it in his head. This is the second loss you've suffered in a year and it's bound to have a cumulative effect. :(
I am sure you'll know when the time is right... although I do remember you saying you didn't want any more cats, so that's worth saying to Dennis when things are less raw.
-
Thanks :)

I think that is a good idea and imo it's not so much the right time as the right cat. Eventually, I'm sure you'll come across a cat that will fit in perfectly with Kylie and Alice and one who will really benefit from what you and Dennis can offer. You'll know when s/he comes along.
-
I have just seen this Mark, I am so sorry, RIP Clapton, sending you and Dennis loads of love x
-
Thanks everyone
There will be no rushing - in fact the more I think about it, the more I don't want any more animals as it is too painful. Also it is me that does everything in the house so I don't want more trays to clean, vet visits etc etc. Although never say never, I don't think I want any more in the foreseeable future. OH even mentioned getting a dog this morning. I nipped that one in the bud :tired:
-
Im not about much atm so only just seen this. sending lots of  to you and OH xx
-
Mark when the time is right I'm sure you and Dennis will make whatever decision suits you all and your lovely ladies
The pain of loosing them does lessen with time having lost 3 last year and Darling Jazz our JRT somehow we haven't got around to another doggie as Sky and Sunny don't seem to need a third wheel on their world but we still have Jazz's bed in situ as Sky gets upset when we go to move it - Bailey is now sleeping in it
-
I never expected it to be be putting the brakes on more cats. Dennis told me about another cat today that is 8 years old and has just had all of his teeth out due to having cat flu as a kitten. He also has IBS. I'm just not sure. I don't want to upset Kylie or Alice and not sure if I have the time to commit.
-
Mark not sure if you are ready but you always had the time for all Clapton and the girls needs so perhaps Clapton is telling his daddies there is another boy who needs the TLC you are so good at
-

:shy:
It's not just that. Kylie is really coming out of her shell and I would hate to see her confidence knocked or her bullying another cat. Alice also went after Clapton. I would only do it if there was some harmony. It wouldn't be fair to a cat to bring it into a house where it was put upon by the others.
-
I'm sure you're wise to wait and see for a while
apart from any other consideration, it leaves you free to step in in an emergency, even if it is just to foster for a short while
-
Oh Mark I am sooo sorry one for only just seeing that darlin Clapton was poorly and second that he has passed. :(
Sending all my love over to you and Dennis. You both gave Clapton such a loving caring life and looked after him soo well.:hug:
Rest easy sweetheart. :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

Thanks everyone. You know how it is, you think you are OK then every now & then, get a stab in the heart :'( - I just went to collect some washing and noticed there is still an indent in the place he laid in 'his' bedroom. I will have to change the bed at some point but going to leave it for now :Luv2:
I'm not religious/superstitious and nor is OH, but we both said it would be nice to know we would see them again (I don't believe we will) OH said "bye Clap, bye Will" this morning before going to work :shy: - Willow's ashes are in a bedside table in that room as well. :(
-
So very sorry Mark - I just got back from holiday and was so hoping that the title of this thread wouldn't have changed............................... :'(
Sleep tight Clapton - you were loved so much xxxx

Yes, I know that feeling
Thats a lovely pic of him by the way :Luv2:
-
I know the feeling too and it takes a time to adjust and get used to special friends not being there, I say hi to Kocka in her grave when I go down the garden and gnite when I come back.
Its very early days yet Mark
-
That's a lovely photo of Clapton Mark :Luv:
I know just what you're feeling right now, I'm still feeling the pain of losing Byron, certain times it just gets to me more, it does get better for us with time
-
It's funny but in my 1/2 lecture in animal welfare on Monday morning before I had to leave, they showed us pictures side by side titled "pleasure or pain?" there were 2 pictures of horses, both apparently rolling in hay. One was rolling in pleasure, the other in agony with colic. There were some other sad pictures that I won't go into. This pic was taken just after clapton had several teeth removed. He was supposed to be kept in but he was head-butting the flap to get out. He drank some nasty pond water and went to sleep on the wall :Luv2: (this was about 7 years ago)
-
Hi Mark, i have not been on for a while as busy with a house move.
So sorry to hear abour Clapton. He was one handsome boy and you did everything you could for him and gave him all the love he could ever ask for, glad he went peacefully.

What a handsome chappie :Luv:
