I had the letter through today about the change to the direct debit name. For some reason I got 2 letters, think that although I cancelled Max's policy last year, it may still be on their system.
Anyhooo, I tried to call them to sort it out, and the quoted telephone number is answered as Sainsburys Finance or something, underwritten by Axa??
Does anybody know what's going on?
-
I've had 6 letters, one for each of the furries. No idea where Sainsburys come into anything. :shify:
I've just had a cheque for claim for Freddie. Took longer than normal and automated format unlike previous typed letters enclosing hand written cheques so seems all change with their systems?

Nope, I don't think they do either :evillaugh:
I got two letters too (one for each cat) but strangely enough they came in different envelopes (by different I mean different writing/design/logo etc)
My policy numbers were consequetive but my new policy numbers are about 10,000 apart, oh and it says the statements will change from 'Axa Pet' to 'Pet insurance' yet my direct debit has always said 'JLT corporate group' or something like that.
The number on my renewal stuff is 0800 316 9036 but I think that's the Birmingham office (where they used to be based) but the envelopes had a return address in Portsmouth :shify: I guess they're taking the admin away from JLT corporate risk in Birmingham and going elsewhere to Portsmouth?
Did you see Gill's thread on the direct debit date change? http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,33952.0.html

I have spent hours the last 2 days trying to insure Pandora -i eventually got the quote come through and when i clicked buy it now -they ask for my age -i put my dob in and then it said -not accepted please ring this number ?
Anyway ,by this time i wasn''t sure if it was my age they wanted or Pandoras - so put hers in and wouldn''t accept that either (well , she is only 5 )
Anyway, after ringing different numbers , having the phone put down on me 3 times -i was left holding and no-one answered for ages then it cut off , i eventually got to talk to some girl -who kept telling me -you can only do it through the website !!!! I told her i had been trying that for ages and even tried to do a new quote-none of which worked .
Her reply - you can only do it through the website :censored:- i gave up and sent them an email !!!
I got a reply this morning asking for my dob and postcode ,which i sent back immedietly and haven'' t heard anything since .
It doesn''t give me much confidence !

I have not had a letter :shify:

Same here :shify:I wonder what they are doing?
I don't want to be insured by Sainsburys :(
-
I got 2 letters yesterday as well. To be honest I haven't read them fully. I saw they were about DD, which I don't have (paid both policies in full).
It would be nice of them to notify people of changes before they do things rather than after. I don't mind what happens provided nothing changes with the policies. Either now or the near future.

I had many letters too and def dont want Sainsburys as they are more expensive than Axa and offer less than Axa!

My insurer Healthy pets is now underwritten by AXA. They were with Amtrust... but that is now all changed according to this page.

No idea whats going to be honest.

jennyk - Axa are normally pretty good so I wouldn't be concerned about the change. It seems they 're just having a kerfuffle with the switch over hence all these letters and Direct debits not going out for some people this month.
For all Axa policyholders... I just rang the number on the letter which, as Clare says, is Sainsburys! They know nothing about this and said that Axa have printed the wrong telephone number on the letter
I then rang Axa on the number that was on my renewal paperwork 0800 316 9036 from a few months ago. He said that 'they' (BDML) had taken over the admin of all Axa pet insurance policies from the old admin company JLT corporate risk. He said no policy T&C's have changed, we're still insured directly with Axa and the only difference is that the policies are now administered by BDML in Portsmouth rather than JLT in Birmingham.

At the moment i am with Tesco, i haven't made any claims for Ai chan, touch wood, and Your insurer looks much better deal than lame tescos, with the conditions per year on healthy pets sounds much better for me financially, i just did a quote with them, i am not sure to go ahead yet, as i will have to cancel Tesco first i guess.
-
Thank you so much Helen for phoning them up and letting us know what they had to say
-
Helen -they just said the same to me when they rang me.
I complained as their website wasn''t working properly and i got nowhere when i rang up (3 times on hold and it went dead after about 5 mins) eventually i sent them an email asking how to insure when i couldn''t do it online and no-one answered the phones .
Anyway , a nice lady rang me about an hour ago and told me the same thing and she was going to check out the phone numbers too .
At last Pandora is now insured ;D

I prefer to deal with insurance companies direct to try and avoid any middle man charge so I would try and get an Axa quote direct and compare. I would also take any new policy out and allow old policy to continue for 14 days before cancelling as any new policies I have seen only provide restricted cover for at least the 1st 14 days.
Cheers for info Helen. Am personally sorry that it's moved from Birmingham coz they were always very nice peeps.
I really think someone from Axa should become a Purrs member so they can deal with all our queries as they arise as there are so many of their policyholders on here :innocent:

Thanks Helen, I was planning to call them again yesterday but was snowed under all day :-[
Not sure how on earth they can put the number of a rival firm on their letters, but hey ho  :evillaugh:
Am glad nothing has changed, I've always been very comfortable with AXA so am pleased that its all still good ;D
-
I am please nothing has changed with Axa, after trying many different companies I am very very happy with Axa.

Got my letter at the weekend. Don't feel left out now! ;D
-
I got two, but they put the policy no and not the cat name on, which was annoying. I have also recently had a claim through for Zi and they have changed that too - I got the letter confirming I would be paid 2 days after I had cashed the cheque (and I didn't do that the day it came in either!!). I know when I had a query on Buster I rang and it said Sainsbury's, when I queried they said they dealt with both, so maybe this change is to stop that.
Interestingly, Mollys renewal was identical to last year, despite them paying out £165, Zi's has gone up by £7 a month - money wise I have probably had slightly more out of them, but it has been done over 3 claims rather than Molly's one, but Molly's was before they changed the website (and excess), and Zi's was after.
