Title: Most ridiculous packaging yet? - Petplanet delivery
Post by: Mark on August 10, 2010, 22:16:07 PM
This came today

To give you an idea of how huge the outer box is, the small brown box at the bottom contains 3 boxes (x 12 pouches) of Hill's k/d - the white boxes are elevated dog bowls and there is a little pack of malt-bits.

I thought Zooplus were the worst, but Petplanet didn't even put screwed up paper or something in to stop the contents rattling around.

I had only just walked through the door with it  :evillaugh:

That has just reminded me that I woke up to a 'thud' last night. It scared the life out of me. When I had convinced myself that we didn't have burglars, I nodded off again. This morning, I found a box on the floor in the dining room. I bought a TV on Sunday and left the empty box on the dining room table - I can only assume Kylie tried to get in it during the night  :evillaugh:

Given that they must send out dozens if not hundreds of parcels a day (Zoe will know), you would think they would have a range of boxes - I have worked in packing departments before and worked at printers that have them. If the box is too big, you cut it doen with a knife and tape it - you never send a parcel out with lots of space in it. They could have fitted my order in it 6 x over  - as you say, I waste of cardboard and I have to keep it until the next recycling day which is Monday week.

To be honest they are not the best. Small warehouse and not a lot of space. Loads of stuff went in big boxes when i was there, i spent a fair few hours of my time in the warehouse when i was there when i was not processing orders and doing accounts stuff

One think i did not like when there most of the staff were dog lovers (no offence to doggy people) but were always more bothered about new dog products than cat, it was all dog dog dog

Oh i could go on forever but i wont lol
