Title: Was litter trained, now isn't....?
Post by: Amy0x on August 02, 2010, 21:12:00 PM
Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help me.

When Kira came to live with us she was litter trained and never had an accident.
I've come to realise if there is any bit of mess in her tray she won't use it. So when i am at work and she does a poop, later on she ends up weeing on my bed, or on the cushion covers, or piles of clean washing....

Does anyone know what i can do to stop this?
She used to use it no matter what but now - its becoming stressfull and i find myself stressing whenever she comes near my bed!

Help!

Thanks in advance! ;)

You need more than 1 tray for her.

I second additional trays. I also think extra large trays help (I use an underbed storage box £3) as they can guarantee not to step in their mess, Noah seems also to prefer a deep fill. Are you still using the same type of litter Kira is used to?

Noah had one accident and one near miss in the early days, he appeared not to want to wee where he had already pooped. I put the old tray in a new location (with litter that had been scooped but not changed) and a fresh tray in the old location, but it still took a few days to get used. Now Noah often checks out both both before going, pees in one then immediately poops in the other. No accidents since!  :wow:

Thanks for your replies :)

It never even occured to me to get two trays!
I will get a bigger one first and see if that helps, if not then i have two then anyways.
