Title: Sophie and kittens
Post by: barney on August 02, 2010, 17:40:55 PM
Hi again, as you know Sophie had the kittens and there doing well been a bit hectic lately as I seem to be forever feeding. Kittens have all had their vacinations and will soon be going for the snip :evillaugh: Only a small problem really Sophie will not get on with one of my other cats Spangles apart from that they all get on rather well. Have put some photos of them here http://www.onetruemedia.com/otm_site/view_shared?p=b82ceeb6c3be40b386876e&skin_id=601&utm_source=otm&utm_medium=text_url (http://www.onetruemedia.com/otm_site/view_shared?p=b82ceeb6c3be40b386876e&skin_id=601&utm_source=otm&utm_medium=text_url) it shows them growing up from the day they were born uptil yesterday... My vet seems to think the kittens have some Bengal in them because of the shape of their heads, wouldn't know personally all I know is there a bit of a handful lol

What a lovely montage  :Luv2: The kittens have amazing markings, I was thinking more abyssinian as they seem to have ticked coats.  I love the photos of them all on their platform - they look like a pack of wild lions!

Hope Sophie and Spangles can learn to stay out of each others way

HAs Sophie been neutered yet? IF she has, there are things you can try, but you might find that she would be happier being rehomed, I find female/female combinations the hardest to make work.

Really? I've never had 2 females together although, the 2 we have had have both been the most territorial.

Yes she's now been spayed, she come into season again very shortly after giving birth. So currently there are 7 females and 3 males with the kittens all being lined up for the op within the next month. Vet seems to think it might be the fact that all she has known  is being pregnant and having kittens which has now come to a stop. I do have to feed her seperately as the kittens will nick her food and she just walks off without eating anything. Having said that it has taken the best part of a year for scruffy to settle in, when I first took her in, on her first visit to the vets it was me who the vets treated as she had ripped my arms to shreds, she hated being handled but now she is a bit of a softy and socialises well with all the others.....

IT sounds like maybe there are too many cats, and she doesn't want to share, not all cats do
