I am just waiting for the potential new slave to call me back!
-
Just remember that they will always be more nervous than you! :evillaugh:
I always try to put them at ease and tell them there is no need for a spring clean.

You be fine, just be positive. Just like what Mark said they will be more nervous than you .

Good luck Kirst - you'll be fine chuck.
What a coincidence - I got a form from RSPCA ages ago and not sent it back to them yet. Bonnie has her yearly booster on Thursday so I'll take my completed form in then.

Most people that are prepared to have a home check are fine anyway. Once in a while, I have a concern and I will discuss it with Sharon; for example, last winter, I homechecked a lovely old lady who had everything in hand. She had a history of taking in strays over the years so had never needed to adopt. Her last cat had died before she moved to a retirement village. She said being in the countryside, no strays had appeared at her door and she was desperate for feline company. She would be there for it 24/7 and it would want for nothing - She had even sorted out a local vet. My biggest concern was she smoked like a chimney in the house. She even mentioned the smoking, saying she was 85 and wasn't about to give up at any time. Sharon agreed that it wasn't ideal, but at the same time, in a world where there are more cat than good homes, we couldn't afford to be too picky and that not every home is going to be 100/100; although we try our best to get close. As long as they are going to be well fed, kept warm and taken good care of, that is the main thing.
I'm sure it is the same with other rescues where you can voice you concerns and the homing officer can take a view on it.

I always can tell by the quality of tea/biccies offered to the home checker. Last week I did a Lady Grey/Bahlsen house! :wow:
