Tom - Mr T - you brought so much fun and happiness into my life, and the life of others.
I first met you back in 1997 I think it was when your "then family" had gone on holiday, and we were helping out by feeding and caring for you, Your Mum Mollie, and your Aunty Chloe. I remember playing with you, wishing you were mine even then and feeling very glad you lived nearby so I could see you :)
I suppose I really got to know you the day we found your Mum, Mollie run over outside. I remember sitting in here, holding you on my lap after wed taken you to see your Mum, so you would know what happened. And do you remember what I told you, while they were burying her, " If you EVER need a home, if you ever need somewhere to come .... come to me and I will look after you". And I remember you looking up at me, with those eyes that just swallowed one up.....
Then Chloe moved in here - and you’d come to visit ! That was brilliant fun .... you were always straight in to the kitchen to eat her food (!) then off to find her and probably have a good chase about.
You became a regular visitor - in here every day
And then came the day you too moved in full time. Ten years after your Aunty Chloe, but it was SUCH a good day we decided to take you in here. You really hadn’t been having a good time of it, had you ? Living in a stairwell .... In trouble when you messed on the floor, because you couldn’t get outside. No water - no food - no bed .... Oh I SO wish we had taken you in earlier .... but you weren’t ours to take ... Until ... thing just went too far and we "stole" you
Remember how long it was before you slept on my bed ? I think you had always been chased off beds before....
I remember posting a picture taken of you and me, cuddled up together fast asleep. If a person and a cat were ever made for each other , it was us. (Just like your Dad and Chloe are !)
Darling Tom, when you got sick we tried everything .... and you were so GOOD! No protests ... the vet called you a perfect Gentleman ... which you were. You perked up for a while but .....
Last Friday you became vey unwell
It got worse .... and in the early hours yesterday, you came to say goodbye. That last cuddle we had – you purring – I’m sure that was as special to you as to me ... but you asked me to let you go and .... a bit later, the vet helped you on the way to Rainbow Bridge
I’m going to have to spell check this, as my eyes are blurred with tears typing it
I miss you so much I love you so much
You gave us all so much
Play hard at the Bridge, my Big Black Cuddle Cat - back with your Mum
Safe in the Arms of Bastet – The Brightest of Blessings to you for all you gave me – and one day ....
We will take the next step together .....
Love you X X X X X

When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me:
I wish you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too:
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand.
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity.
And all I've promised you.
Today your life on earth is past,
But here life starts anew."
"I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There's no longing for the past."
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.
