Title: Delphi has stopped eating again
Post by: Philip on July 25, 2010, 19:02:25 PM
My rescue raggie Delphi has stopped eating again and is loosing weight.

Have had a good few months since last time where she has been doing so well.

Please send healing purrs and vibes as she is such a lovely cat.

Its been really hot and muggy again the last few days, hopefully its just that.
Hope she picks up soon....or some steroids might just kick start her xx

Speak to your vet about prescribing Cyproheptadine ( Periactin )
It is a human anti-histamine, but in cats it strongly stimulates appetite. It is widely used in USA/Canada and whilst I would not advise it's use without veterinary guidance, can actually be bought without prescription from many online pharmacies.
I have used it successfully to break the cycle of not eating/poor appetite.
