My big boy Misa has been ill since Thursday and saw vet on Friday morning and had an abs injection, vet said he thought it was a bug and Misa had a little temperature. He semeed a littlr better but seems to be getting worse again :(
He is not eating or drinking and has been sick, just the smell of food makes him try to be sick. He is also not using the tray at all.
I so want my big boy back to normal and the abs arent working :(
Back to vets tomorrow.
-
Fingers crossed its just a bug, txika has had a runny bum the last couple of days which im sure is fly related,im giving a bland diet, bloody flies  cant stop her catching them tho :tired: they crawl over dry food so he could have got a fly bug that way, hope hes back to normal soon
-
Someone also had a runny tummy last night but dont know who, unless it was Misa.
I triewd giving him some chicken tonight but he wouldnt touch it, Ducha ate it!

Just popped in to update.
Misa has done well over night and slept against me most of time. He has had his first food about 30 mins ago and the test is to see if it stays down, he is much more pinky and perky than he was, but that didnt take a lot!
We have a vet appointment at 1730 if needed but am hoping I will think he is improved enough so can cancel, part because he gets so stressed in the car, he wouldnt be I think if he wasnt in a cage.
Have been having nightmares incase they thought he need to stay in cos dont think he would be happy at all.
He was very hungry and am sure all this not eating has caused him to lose weight but he didnt have a lot so am hoping it will stay down, He started drinking yesterday which was a relief.
So fingers crossed for my Misaman.
-
Hope he keeps his food down, and that you don't need that visit to the vets this afternoon :Luv2:
-
Hope he will be ok now

-
Any news on Misaman Gill? Did you have to take him to the vets?
-
I cancelled the appointment in the end but have made another for tomorrow afternoon.
He hasnt eaten anything else but will get ointo the bed to greet me for strokes, so if he hasnt improved anymore by tomorrow I will take him in,
Trying to balance the stress he gets going in the car against his real need to go, not easy.
Hope for a big improvement by tomotrrow but not very optimistic really. He is still spending all his time lying on floor but in bedroom now........sigh
-
Poor Misa :(

Just caught this thread, Gill. So sorry to hear that Misa has been poorly. Thinking positive thoughts for Misa and the gang.
-
Thank you everyone and think Misa has turned the corner now, he is still not fully back to his happpy hungry self but was on the bed head butting and plodding last night and he is starting to eat more.
However there is real jealousy amongst the three boys and Misa forsed Ducha off the bed last night.
Just have a major panic cos one of my diabetic tablets hlas vanished! Was being hassled by Franta and went to get him some food and tablet was where I put the lappy on a small table but when I came back tablet is gone.
If he didnt eat it, where is the blooming thing cos cant find it anywhere.
Have rung vets and asked what to do and how would I know if a cat atye it..............one of the things woul;d be hungry........sigh and Franta just ate all that food.............think i
am cracking up!
-
Glad to hear that Misa is getting better :)
I doubt that they would have voluntarily eaten a tablet Gill, it takes us all our time to pill them! have you checked all round the floor or if you've put it down somewhere else?
-
Glad he's turned the corner ;D
Have you ever tried Feliway for the jealously probs?
I doubt that they would have voluntarily eaten a tablet Gill, it takes us all our time to pill them :)
I was about to say exactly the same thing.
-
No I havent but that maybe worth a go in the bedroom. :thanks:
I have searched everywhere for that bloomin little white pill, its just vanished! I agrre cos Franta cant be pilled and also he doesnt like lumps, It also melts very quickly if it gets wet so would have expected to see foam.
I hope its not like the dropped needle that you only find when you take your shoes off...............or eaten by another cat in this pills situation.
What was interesting is that this medication is sometimes used for cats who are diabetic, its called glicazide, The signs are hunger, wobbly and suspect foaming at mouth, Franta seems himself and only posibilty is hunger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really dont need Franta of all the cats to have eaten it but agree think chances are slim unless it smells nice to cats!
