We were sitting on the sofa last night watching tele and Pickle came down the stairs - She only tends to be really friendly and loving when Missy isnt around and she started purring around my legs and ankles and oh's too. He then turned to me and said,"How can i get her up here?" so i turned to him and said well she normally jumps up if you scratch the sofa at the back and she cant see it so comes for an investigate but generally she isnt a lap cap and wont - Well bless my soul did Pickle not jump up for him and start purring around him and start headbutting his arms and stuff!!
I knew he was warming to them but to see him interacting and starting to fall for their charms is fantastic. Shes definately a cat for the lads that one!!

Beckie, I know exactly what you mean. When I met my partner I already had three of my mob and he had no pets whatsoever. Gradually, he got used to them, and even asked if we could bring Parsley to come and live with him! (She was his sisters cat who had emigrated to South Africa, and Parsley had been left with their dad - who isn't really a pet person and just left food on the porch for her!)
He has developed a very strong bond with my little ginger guy and it's tremendous to watch him melt when he's feeling awful because the little one knows he needs some cuddles!

Hi,
A really nice story that, I don't have an OH but if I did she'd have to be as crazy about cats as I am, simple really, love me, love my cats/love my cats, love me LOL, or maybe she'd have to just be plain crazy :)
Applications on a postcard, ailurophiles only need apply :) :).
Cheers

My OH is a gem. I already had 3 cats and a dog before I met him. He has allergies which are set off by dander and pollen so when he was staying this weekend at mine he had to take his piriton as he was sneezing his head off. He won't think of asking me to get rid of my boys. Especially when he brought Harvey down for me. :Luv:

My dh has suggested a couple of times lately that he's SURE cody wouldnt pee on duvets now and we should perhaps NOT shut him in the kitchen anymore
oh this is from the guy who thinks cody is just "ok" he supposes

Aww that’s great!
My husband never had a pet, so for him to cope with my cats was a big step.
We have two in our house who are both officially mine (they’re girls so we’ve got to stick together) and my Penguin who I’ve had for years ADORES my husband (the traitorous so and so that Penguin is) and pays him more attention.
So my husband officially has a cat and has really learned to love them all (though complains endlessly when the girls ignore him!). He just has to remember they aren’t dogs (though Lirael will play fetch).

My husband has forbid me to have more than 3 cats or any other animals.
Which is just mean as I'd love to have an actual Penguin.
I didn't name our cat Penguin he came with the name from the adoption center (it was in the US so I get to use the US spelling!) and he answered to it so there was no changing it.
Though he does like being called Pengi wengie to my husbands despair.

I've tried Pengers which doesn't go down well in the house. My mom liked calling him Cleopatra till she remembered he was a boy, then it was King Tut.
Centre/Centre was the spelling issue in my post - I don't get a chance to use American spelling alot so I over enjoy it when I can. :)
