I've just seen Vader, basically, standing on top of Tachi, whilst biting the back of his neck. Why on earth is he doing that? Help!
-
It must be a dominance thing?
The only time I have seen that is when Toms do it to females when they mate.
-
Robbie used to do it to Lilly, usually when they were playing/fighting. Both neutered and it did seem to be a dominance thing as he had no idea what to do when he had her there!
-
Jaffa stands/sits astride Mosi biting the back of the neck. It's a dominance thing.
When I say biting, Jaffa doesn't hurt Mosi. Just tries to show him who's boss when Mosi gets too big for his boots.

Yep dominance - Rocky does this to Freddy
-
all my boys do this, except to Missy, trying just gets them a face full of keratin :evillaugh:
-
Ginger does it to a cuddly toy lion we brought back from South Africa  Doesn't do it to the other cats though

Mark's spot on - I'm told that toms that want to be dominant do it to reinforce their "manliness" with other toms, and sometimes spayed females too. (My cousins tom, who has left it WAYYYY too late to try and be the dominate one does it to her two females sporadically. He never wins, though. :evillaugh:)

Phew. I was worried something was wrong. Poor Tachi didn't know what to make of it at all!

LOL! Some of mine do it too - the bemused face of the recipient always makes me laugh, although I know I shouldnt! :evillaugh:

When Jaffa does it to Mosi, I think Mosi quite enjoys it :shify:
-
Iv also heard of sudden humping when they have crystals causing irritation!
-
I haven't noticed any other odd behaviour, but I'll keep an eye on him just in case. Thanks.
