And I assume you are from 4paws as well? :shify:

It's actually Four Paws (not 4paws!). No I'm not 'from' there but I am considering volunteering for them! So cynical! ;D
-
Even if you are , the more rescues the less abandoned cats so that can only be a good thing eh! ;)
I support the rescues on here (occasionally adopting a cat or three) and also CP anhd Blue Cross

Yes I am cynical and would recommend people check out any charity themselves before donating.
The exact same post was posted on another forum today - I found this in a matter of seconds so I am sure there are others.

My favourite charities are the Cat's Protection because they helped me out a lot with Darcy, our stray who we recently rescued. The lady was just lovely and willing to give us advice and help us out with neutering etc.
Also the Cat Orphanage who are a local cat rescue charity where I live, we got Pepsi from one lady who unfortunately is retiring soon but there's a few others still working to rescue and rehome.
And NASSL, again a lady working on her farm relying on the public for donations, I have a soft spot for them as when I was in college we did bake sales for them and bought food and blankets and toys and the lady was always so grateful and lovely. When I had to rehome Tank for a girl at work again she was brilliant.

For me its got to be Eight Lives Left. Where I got My spoilt furbabes from. :Luv:
But I love reading about all the good work of the Purrs Charities.

No particular favourites although I greatly admire AnimalsAsia as they are doing a great deal to try stopping cats & dogs being used to for meat & fur in China etc. They take great risks and I can't imagine some of the terrible things they have to witness.

I don't have a particular a favorite animal charity.
I used to volunteered in north London's CP.
I guess it's HAWs( Hounslow Animal Welfare) as I whodunit of met Ai Chan!

So I was right being cynical. If someone was genuinely asking a question, fair enough but they haven't even logged in again since that first day.
It reminds me of a certain rescue that I won't name as I know some people support them on here, but someone posted once about the wonderful cat flap they had bought and it could be ordered from x rescue. It turned out, the person was from that rescue. I think it does a disservice being crafty like that. They would have been far better off saying who they were and that the cat flaps could be ordered at discounted prices while helping a rescue?

Mrrk, did you think to check the Charity Commission instead of just scaning the web?
-
Yes - there is a Four Paws rescue in Wales - the only one registered with the charity commission - it is a completely different charity, mainly a dog rescue.
http://www.fourpawsanimalrescue.org.uk/
The other one posted on here appears to be genuine, although there is no registered number on their website. My point is, even if they are kosher, someone posting links to them left right & centre doesn't give them any credibility.
-
The Welsh Four Paws is a good rescue, and they post on Dog Pages.
I believe the one here is just spamming sites :scared:

So you don't even think it is a real charity? :scared:
I thought it looked genuine but whoever posted the link on here is posting links all over the place.

I spoke to Will at the London office. He is going to look into it. He thinks it might be a helper thinking they are doing a good thing, but also thinks that it probably does more harm than good. He is going to set up a purrs account and PM the person to find out who they are - he will also introduce the charity properly.

Nope, it's probably real. Just going onto different sites and posting websites and not anything else is considered spamming and is quite rude :scared:
That's really good of Will :Luv:
